Edited version of this old photo. The original was infrared, converted to black and white.
This version has had it's red and blue channels switched and then the levels tweaked by picking a white point in the grass.
Thanks to Tricky(SovietUK) for the tips.
Lots of experimenting left to do - hopefully with some new images if the sun ever comes out again ;)

Hubert just came back from the hair-stylist and refused to wear his helmet. The Dark Lord will not be happy.
I cut my bangs at 6 am. Can you tell? How about that crazy look in my eye that says too much bus and too little coffee?

I wasn't going to upload this photo, but I couldn't resist uploading it for Julie since she loves this woman's costume so much. We're at rest stop #2, and Kassidie made me stand by this woman (unbeknownst to her) and take a picture showing the pink thong from behind. I didn't want to take the picture at the time, but it makes me laugh now, so I'm glad I did. :)

Took a Harley ride through Hines Park last night. Stopped for a bit at the east end Newburgh Lake. There were a couple of large groups of geese and one broke from the flock and came over to us. He was hoping for something to eat I am sure. When he left though he didn't join the rest, I guess he must be rebel of the group. :-)
today's bikeventure: down town post office, walmart (picking up film, bought two decks of cards) then nuuanu 7-11 (free slurpee day!) and home via auwaiolimu park. :)
Here I am on Spitsbergen, in an oversized svalbardsbunad, uh, snowmobiling suit, with helmet hair and everything ;-)
Kellie was such a trooper for the day. She came with us to the ride to see us off in the morning and then sat ALL DAY waiting for us to finish. Here, I'm calling her to tell her where we are and how much longer I expect we'll be. Thinking that we would average 12 miles an hour, even with rest stops (and that's even slow), I told her before the ride we'd be done between 1 and 2pm. Wrong-o I was!! It's 11:30am at this point, we're just now having lunch, we've been on the road for 3 1/2 hours, and we're not even halfway finished with the ride. I felt really bad that she was going to have to sit there way longer than we thought. But she did end up leaving & getting lunch, and she had my camera, so she was busy taking all kinds of pictures! That girl never gets bored. That's one of the things I love about her. :)

A look around Monmouth in Monmouthshire - the county town of the county.
The shops on Church Street in Monmouth. The Savoy Theatre is at the end of this street.

Okay, so maybe not a series of abstract shots right now. Heather and I popped out for a quick bike ride mid-way through watching the tennis (nice one Andy!). This was taken in Doxey Marshes, which is a nature reserve just a few minutes from the house. Lovely in the evening sunlight.
I smiled in my Jr. Prom picture and it looked terrible so I thought I would avoid that mistake at my Sr. Prom. Nice height on my hair! To protect the innocent I will not disclose who the poor girl is who was my date that night but needless to say, she was very nice to be seen with me.
He was my friend.... Lost in a wind storm, never to be seen again. I made him from hair cut from a horses mane.

Still wearing the jersey. Ready to eat two smoked herring and sip on some wine. Notice the hair, still showing the helmet imprints.
This is what happens when nieces "speed demand" drawings from me on holidays. You get Justin Bieber (younger helmet hair version) singing to a bow-be-decked sugar skull while the thermometer gets Bieber Fever and the tour van idles with the AC on. Have you gotten your ticket yet?
We both had a blast out on the DH trails today with cool Fall temps & all that beautiful scenery. I had to stay away from the double-diamond runs since I was on my 5" trail bike. We still had a blast riding Blue, Red & Pink Line trails.
These Helmet-cam videos (taken by some local riders) gives you a a good view of these trails. And they DO seem more menacing in person.

I'm exhausted, sunburned, dirty, sweaty, and my butt hurts. :)
But I had a great time, even looking back on it. I'm so glad we did this ride together. This was the 1st time Kass and I spent any significant amount of time together sans Kellie. We trained for this ride starting back in January, almost every Saturday, either just the two of us or with a group of women also training for the ride. Through the experience, I learned a lot about Kass, I learned even more about myself, and I got to see parts of the Bay Area on bicycle that I would've never seen otherwise. I would do it all again in a heartbeat. :)

Mile 41, we've been on the road a little more than 6 hours, and we're stopping for our 3rd and final snack break. Same things as before: bananas, oranges, lots o' cookies, pretzels, PB&J on bagels, and M&Ms. This stop was at an elementary school, and the background in this picture is a bunch of tiles made up to look like the American flag. It was quite cool! :)
What you can't see in these pictures is that we are starting to sunburn badly. I could just feel the heat from my arms, we had no sunscreen with us, and I knew we had a couple more hours on the road. That was the worst part of the ride. :( But live & learn. I'll never cycle without sunscreen ever again.
We are all getting tired, and we are wanting to be done now more than ever. It's been fun, and the weather was absolutely perfect, but 6 hours on the road is a long time!! Only another 24 miles to go!

Stockholm, Sweden. I'm drinking water as one of the easily recognizable Stockholm "blue" buses pass. This is at a nice little Italian restaurant at Fridhemsplam. I geotagged this photo in case you ever want to go there....
