South of Lake Naivasha, there lies Hell's Gate National Park, which was once a lake that fed our prehistoric ancestors. [13] Being a not particularly popular tourist attraction, it gives you the opportunity to peacefully and quietly ride a bike among zebras, giraffes, warthogs, and others, rather than fry in the uncomfortable trap of a safari van.

August 16th 2010 I was diagnosed with cancer. It wasn't a serious kind, just a little skin growth on my chest, from way too many years in the sun.
"Don't worry, lots of people get this"
"It's not serious, we'll just freeze it off"
"Here's your appointment (3 months from August 16th)"
"Don't worry"
Well you gotta know what I did....yup, I worried.
And then the big freeze day came and a young man who could be my grandson wanted to look at my eruption. Now remember I said this was on my CHEST.
I am not a shy person, even go to a nudist beach, but for some reason I was uncomfortable with this young doctor. It didn't help that he was standing there with what looked like a flame thrower. I finally let him do his job, and he struck up the blow torch, didn't mention to me that it was going to hurt like hell, and then in a very aloof manner told me I would be in pain for a week and to check back in three weeks....goodbye.
Now a year later, I have lumps in odd spots. Under my armpits, by my collarbone, slightly worriesome, but I have been told:
"Don't worry"
"It's nothing serious, but we might need to investigate further"
"Heres your appointment date (next week on August 16th)
"It'll be ok"
And for some reason this time, I am not worried.

and very quick and witty- watch out for those Ozone dudes, they do it for real!
6. Czar Black- aka Nomadic. A Jacksonville legend. Nuf said. Missed out last year, claims this year hes "going for throats" (quote)
7. Sinsay- a small white dude from Mandrin with glasses that strait embaresses dudes every year. Sin is fast- real fast. Went to the semi finals last year.
8. The Scapegoat- repping Gainesville, Scum of the Earth crew. This dude does rap shows in Regan Youth and Minor Threat T shirts. I have never heard his freestyle, but if they are as agressive as his written work- cats better look out twice.
9. Veeza Vee- little is known about this dude except he runs with the IG Camp, with Northstar and Blakhart. Westside in the place, I assume.
10. JK- repping the massive local click The Family. A young dude, known to always be rocking fresh fashions and a quick toungeand vicous free.
MCs improvise and make lyrics off the top of their heads to either make fun of the other dude or go strait for his throat. It gets brutal. They go at it in 2 rounds and leave it to the 3 esteemed judges to sort out.

I can honestly say that in July 2002 I went through Hell.
Its a small station in Norway. The train I was on was the infrequent international service from Storlien (just about in Sweden) to Trondheim.
Despite allegations to the contrary you can clearly see that Hell is above sea level (though not by much).

This is the old goods shed. I suspect that the name has been left on it to give English speaking tourists a photo opportunity!
On a ridge overlooking the Patapsco River and adjacent to the Ilchester Paper Mill sits the ruins of St. Mary’s College. The former religious school, which opened in the 1890s, prepared hundreds of young men for the seminary until it was eventually moved to a nearby facility in the 1950s. The remaining structures were abandoned, and what little remains continues to be reclaimed by the forest.
Recently returned from two days spent at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and this is one of many photos I took while there. We stayed at the historic El Tovar Hotel, situated just along the rim - what a great location! I hadn't been to the Grand Canyon in 15 years and thoroughly enjoyed seeing the breath-taking landscapes once again.
INFORMATION ON THE GRAND CANYON:
The Grand Canyon is a steep-sided gorge carved by the Colorado River in the United States in the state of Arizona. It is largely contained within the Grand Canyon National Park — one of the first national parks in the United States. President Theodore Roosevelt was a major proponent of preservation of the Grand Canyon area, and visited it on numerous occasions to hunt and enjoy the scenery.
Longstanding scientific consensus has been that the canyon was created by the Colorado River over a six million year period. The canyon is 277 miles (446 km) long, ranges in width from 4 to 18 miles (6.4 to 29 km) and attains a depth of over a mile (1.83 km) (6000 feet). Nearly two billion years of the Earth's geological history have been exposed as the Colorado River and its tributaries cut their channels through layer after layer of rock while the Colorado Plateau was uplifted. The canyon began in the west, followed by another that formed in the east. Eventually, the two broke through and met as a single majestic rent in the earth some six million years ago. The merger apparently occurred where the river today bends to the west, in the area known as the Kaibab Arch.
Before European immigration, the area was inhabited by Native Americans who built settlements within the canyon and its many caves. The Pueblo people considered the Grand Canyon ("Ongtupqa" in Hopi language) a holy site and made pilgrimages to it. The first European known to have viewed the Grand Canyon was GarcÃa López de Cárdenas from Spain, who arrived in 1540.
The Grand Canyon is a massive rift in the Colorado Plateau that exposes uplifted Proterozoic and Paleozoic strata, and is also one of the six distinct physiographic sections of the Colorado Plateau province. The Grand Canyon is unmatched throughout the world for the vistas it offers to visitors on the rim. It is not the deepest canyon in the world — Cotahuasi Canyon (11598 feet or 3535 m) and Colca Canyon (10499 feet or 3200 m), both in Arequipa, Peru, and Hells Canyon (7,993 feet or 2436 m) on the Oregon-Idaho border, are all deeper — but Grand Canyon is known for its overwhelming size and its intricate and colorful landscape. Geologically it is significant because of the thick sequence of ancient rocks that are beautifully preserved and exposed in the walls of the canyon. These rock layers record much of the early geologic history of the North American continent.
About 600 deaths have occurred in the Grand Canyon since the 1870s. Some of these deaths occurred as the result of overly zealous photographic endeavors, some were the result of airplane collisions within the canyon, and some visitors drowned in the Colorado River. Many hikers overestimate their fitness level, become dehydrated and confused, and must be rescued. The Park Service now posts a picture of an attractive and fit young man at several trailheads with the caption "Every year we rescue hundreds of people from the Canyon. Most of them look like him", in an attempt to discourage hikers from feats which are beyond their abilities.
According to Over the Edge: Death in the Grand Canyon, 50 fatalities have resulted from falls; 65 deaths were attributable to environmental causes, including heat stroke, cardiac arrest, dehydration, and hypothermia; 7 were caught in flash floods; 79 were drowned in the Colorado River; 242 perished in airplane and helicopter crashes (128 of them in the 1956 disaster mentioned below); 25 died in freak errors and accidents, including lightning strikes and rock falls; 47 committed suicide; and 23 were the victims of homicides.

From the ReStore in Lawrence, KS - and as I have now developed a "thing" for wooden handled hammers the last few years - it came home with me
Markings are a bit hard to see - but you do have several images to chose from. Logo in form of
- HELLER (HORSE) Made in USA -
with the Made in USA in smaller letters and USA under "Made in". Horse logo totally obscured by a rusty patch
Going all in on this - puller the head, now soaking in veneffr. Will prime/paint. Handle has some splits - glued in some 1/4" dowels and hope to stabilize. Will sand and probably seal. Did not get a look at bottom of handle yet to see if there is a weight mark
Wedge is an "S" shape and will be reset, I filed off about 1/4 -3/8" of the top of the handle to get some newer wood involved.
