Thats right groundhog day used to be hedgehog day, but when the colonists came to America there were no hedgehogs and the tradition was renamed Groundhog day!

Today is groundhog day, and over in Pennsylvania, the high and mighty Punxsutawney Phil predicted another 6 weeks of winter ( he saw his shadow).
Well, from several sources I have discovered that the groundhog day holiday actually derived from HEDGEHOG day. Huckleberry decided to challenge the groundhog to a duel of weather-forcasting.
Huckleberry Hog took a early morning excursion to the yard and has let me know that there were no shadows. He also let me know that it is cold outside, but that it smells pretty interesting.
Huckleberry Hog has predicted the end of winter (take that, Punxsutawney Phil!).
Now we just have to wait and see which hog is victorious!
