Something a bit different on the early morning 4F89 0607 Crewe Basford Hall SSN to Runcorn Folly Lane through Hartford - Freightliner's sole Class 47, 47830 (D1645) "Beeching's Legacy" leads Class 70, 70011 (DIT) on the 'tanktainers'.
The Sulzer worked the tanks back to Crewe on 4K88 later in the day, with the 70 on 'binliner' duties.

BHPIO loaded Yandi iron ore with 6077-5645 assisted by mid-train 6074 (just visible on the far curve) passing the 225km near Shaw on September 5, 2002.
6077 was the last of the 8 GE Erie US-built AC6000 locos, a short-lived class that were built in early 1999 and all scrapped 15 years later in 2014.

BHPIO GE CM40-8M rebuilds 5650 "Yawata" and 5654 "Kashima" with a load of iron ore passing the 212km peg on September 5, 2002. Hidden in the ore dust and also out of frame are two helper sets: 5663-5652 mid-train and 5653-5644 on the rear.

On a fabulous mid-May evening, Freightliner Heavyhaul 66596 skirts Warsett Hill at Hunt Cliff heading the 6F26 18:22 Boulby to South Bank Tees Dock loaded polyhalite on Tuesday 14th May 2019. The derelict building at one time housed a fan to provide ventilation to the Huntcliff Ironstone Mine, which was active between 1872 and 1906.

Doncaster witnesses a heavy downpour as Freightliner Heavyhaul 66616 crosses the River Don on the down Doncaster avoiding line near Hexthorpe Junction, Warmsworth, on 25th May 2021, the Hull Dairycoates (Tilcon) to Tunstead stone empties, the return working of the 6E56 06.22 Tunstead to Hull earlier that day.

66617 is seen outside Walsall Cement Terminal, waiting to back onto a rake of Freightliner HeavyHaul coal hoppers.
A bonus Saturday morning shot was two engineers trains from Carlisle to Walkden. I missed the first by twenty minutes but this with Freightliner Heavy Haul 66528 on the point made a pleasing image having just passed through Daisy Hill (ex L&Y) station in the distance. Weekend Engineering work is being carried out from Walkden to Salford Crescent.
Chances of morning freight working eastbound are few and far between on this line and thanks go to Tony Woof for the heads up.
