More than 25 Bronx, NY, senior citizens took part in a friendly, yet competitive, billiards tournament in April 2011. The event was sponsored by Touchstone Health.

The Northern California Psychiatric Society (NCPS) and the University of California, San Francisco, Memory and Aging Center invite you to join some of the leading experts in behavioral neurology, psychiatry and diseases of aging for a one-day conference at UCSF. Differentiating the normal from pathological aging or psychiatric disease can present a challenge even for experienced physicians, and there are few established principles to guide in differentiating neurodegenerative from primary psychiatric disease.

 

Educational Objectives: An attendee completing this course should be able to: 1. Identify the most sensitive and specific methods for diagnosing neurological and psychiatric symptoms; 2. Describe the various imaging and laboratory findings among various progressive neurodegenerative diseases; 3. Understand the basic of therapy for Alzheimer’s disease, frontotemporal dementia and Parkinsonian-dementias.

Andrew Weil, MD, the nation’s most renowned exponent of a more holistic approach to medicine, is director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona (the leading effort in the world to develop a comprehensive curriculum in integrative medicine), and is also a clinical professor of medicine and a professor of Public Health there.
