The sun chucking out some rays as it hits the down button over the Menzion Forest in the borders. The Menzion Forest is in the process of being felled and was once a huge army of mature conifers over this glen. A hand held shot seeing my tripod was broken.
A beautiful hike on the Ingalls Way Trail to enjoy the golden colored larch trees and great views of Mount Stuart and Ingalls Peaks. KIttitas and Chelan Counties, Washington. This is in the Alpine Lake Wilderness. IMG_8995

Evening snowstorm
Excerpts from a wild night of heavy sticky snow. My favorite. It wasn't long before a hot cup of tea began to sound better than shooting in the snow though....

1939 Cadillac V-8 convertible by Fleetwood. You wonder how much the long aerodynamic 'bullet' shape of the headlight shell actually helped in the face of the huge flat surface of the radiator. Beautiful though, and that iconic mascot...and the nice color combo. A wonderful car to race about the countryside, rumble seat out, in the days before the World was consumed by War.

"Oh god, I hate lighthouses!" nobody ever said. That's why here's another shot of the very good looking Portland Headlight.

In April we spend a few days in Boulder, Colorado. One day I drove into the mountains and followed a dirt road for quite some time, mainly through forest. I stopped at a turn shortly after sunset to take this shot.

I processed a balanced HDR photo from three RAW exposures, and played with the color balance to give the scene an eerie look.

Like with the previous Pot Marigold macro on my photostream this one is severely overexposed, and the brightness was increased as well. But here I let it retain most of the colour saturation to keep the contrast between the outside of the flower and the more colourless glow inside.
After a few comments I must add a disclaimer: The angle is on purpose, but I did not rotate the image. It was taken from straight above the subject. A very thankful pose, as I preferred it this way.
