Is this what we know as "having one's head in the clouds"? Who knows. What I see is an old snail walking through the beautiful paradise, looking for some friends to chat.

______________

¿Es a esto a lo que llamamos "estar en las nubes"? Quien sabe. Yo lo que veo es a un viejo caracol caminando por el bello paraíso, buscando algun amigo con quien charlar.

If you're a blues fan then this title may (literally) sing/play to you.

This landscape of a waterscape was captured in 2009. The reduced quality of sharpness of this point-and-click shot leant itself very much to a romantic painterly feel in the editing process.

It is better to have your head in the clouds, and know where you are... than to breathe the clearer atmosphere below them, and think that you are in paradise.

Sometimes my head is in the clouds...Not a bad place to be considering this view. I took this one in the Bryce NP..enjoy! #clouds #headintheclouds

Or under the weather, get up at 4am drive 3.5hr through a spectacular sunrise then beautiful blue skies to arrive at wrong location (clicked the wrong one on the sat nav), another hour drive to arrive at Llyn Ogwen with the cloud touching our heads and it stayed like that for the rest of the day. This is looking across Llyn Idwal to the Devils Kitchen.

Located near Newport, Oregon, the Yaquina Head Lighthouse is an iconic symbol of the Oregon Coast. Towering over the Pacific Ocean, it stands watch over shipping, good weather and bad, thousands of tourists, and the spouts from migrating Gray Whales.

Shot with a circular polarizing filter and an orange filter. This combination helps to render the blue sky pretty dark. Still trying to figure out how to gauge the proper exposure with an orange filter.

I tried to take advantage of that stormy weather from last week. I took a long exposure in the day time and that made all the moving cars on the street disappear.

Socially distant clouds

I love grabbing cloud drive-by shots (kids don't try this @ home ;). I do it safely, however. Quite simply, I Prop the camera on the arm that I'm using to steer & luck can play a large role @ times. I was surprised by this one. I'm not usually fond of my own shots, but I find myelf staring into this one. Mmmmmmm, tranquilizing... (BTW, you should always take great care in grabbing these shots from a moving vehicle! :) Anyway, this is another one shot @ 65+ on I-68.

Here are some other examples. ^_^

Hi guys! Boy has it been a while. My three and a half months of holidays have unfortunately come to an end. I'm officially a fourth year and have begun my last year of university. I literally cannot believe it. When they say time flies, they really mean it.

I've made it a goal to become more involved this year - at uni, in my social life + in the photography world. It's often difficult to get myself motivated to go out, so I've been making a real effort to fix that. With that said, I've been spending most of my time taking photos for an upcoming exhibition "Head in the Clouds", which I am extremely excited about. I've had to take six portraits of six different Blue Mountains artists. I cannot wait to share all of the photographs.

Here is one I took of the wonderful Annaliese Bakes (make sure to check out her work!) on a foggy + rainy summer's days Annie took me to some truly magical places, including this one. We had so much fun + I look forward to more shoots with her in the future.

Stay tuned for more photos with some new faces - coming very, very soon.

OCTOBER 2021

DAY 9: "HEAD IN THE CLOUDS"

~

~

Model: Anna White

Hi flickr peeps! So since my last upload, I attended the opening night of "Head in the Clouds - Glimpse of an Artist" - the exhibition of which I'm part. It was absolutely incredible seeing people looking at the six portraits I've been working so hard on for these past couple of months. It was also amazing to see each of my artists admire their portrait. I was also so grateful to have my photo of Becky (the dancer), used and featured in the Sydney Morning Herald!

Another exciting part of that weekend was seeing four out of my six photos printed on big banners that are now hanging down the main street of Katoomba. Ah - it was just such a surreal moment for me.

Please, if you live in Sydney, head on up to the Blue Mountains to check out the exhibition (both indoor and outdoor). It runs until June 3. All details can be read here.

Thank you all for your constant support! I'd be nowhere without you all x

P.S. Any Mad Men fans out there? 'Cause I just watched the last episode and am currently experiencing the utter depression you go through after one of your favourite shows of all time has ended :(

Hi Flickr! So as you all know, I'm going to be in an exhibition in May! I've been very keen to share what I've taken so far this year but it's all been under wraps because we want the photos to be somewhat of a surprise. I am allowed to start sharing some other concepts I took on each of the shoots. You've already seen three photos of the wonderful Annaliese Bakes - now it's time for someone new :)

This is Imogen Clark, a very, very talented musician. Make sure you check out her stuff! Once she picked me up from the train station, we ventured off into the Springwood bush on a very rainy morning back in February. She is an absolute breath of fresh air - so, so lovely! I'm hoping to share a couple of photos from the day, this being the first.

If you're interested in attending the exhibition, please visit the Head in the Cloud - Glimpse of an Artist site. We're also an associated exhibition with the Head On Festival, which is very exciting and they've posted a sneak peek of some of the exhibition photos (including two of mine). Please check it out + if you're wanting any more details about the opening night, just email me - alexbenetel@gmail.com.
