Some utterly beautiful woodland - west-coast birch and oak forestry on the way from carpark to Aoineadh Mor.

I don't often tag places "idyll", but this certainly was a perfect moment, a real nemophilist's delight.

HDR ... Avec mon frère, un très beau moment, souvenir de photographe :)

The view of Moraine lake from the top of the rockpile is one of the most photographed locations in all of Canada. The view of the mountains behind the lake in Valley of the Ten Peaks is known as the Twenty Dollar View, as Moraine Lake was featured on the reverse side of the 1969 and 1979 issues of the Canadian twenty dollar bill.

I want to thank www.hdrlabs.com for ranking this photo as one of the top 30 HDR images for August. Thanks! And a little quote from their website:

"More than 1.000.000 images on Flickr are tagged with "hdr".

This gallery streams the 30 most interesting of them. What you see here is the creme de la creme, the current state of the HDR art."

I created this image from a series of photos I shot of Åre Ski Mountain this week. The first images I shot at around 5pm before there sunset had even begun, and the last when it was pitch dark. Photo by Jacob Surland

I took this on an overcasted day. Got home and tweaked it a bit. The photo still keeps the reality side of things. I added some LOMO-ish and then lightened it up and threw in some very light sepia tones to create this POPPING Real Feeling Art. It is more realistic than HDR. Anyone like HDR art or do you prefer a more realistic photo? I like more of a realistic feel to photography. But I don't like photos with zero pop nor too much HDR! Just Right!

One of the countless works of art in Florence. We tried to avoid the incredible crowds that gathered around the works of art. For example, we couldn't visit the David because we didn't want to wait in a 300-metre-long queue. But the "pushing man" pictured here, presumably a statue of recent date, would have been accessible.

Bologna in Emilia-Romagna is a wonderful city. There are many good restaurants offering the delicacies of the region. Parma and Modena are just next door. But Bologna is also the city where neo-fascists carried out a monstrous bomb attack in 1980.

The picture with the three nuns, however, could be anywhere in Italy.

Shot and edited on iPhone5. Apps used: Hipstamatic, Snapseed, HDR art, DistressedFx, Decim8, Mextures (my own formula).
