The weather isn't really nice today, rainy and windy, but Linus had to venture outside for a moment to pay a visit to the Prunus. The Prunus might have felt neglected without its daily dose of kitty attention. I guess this explains why my Prunus isn't in great shape.

In Anlehnung an die grandiose Bearbeitung meines „Foto-Mentors“ und Freund [https://www.flickr.com/photos/134163722@N08/], habe ich mich selbst auch noch mal daran versucht. Bei mir ist es noch dunkler geworden und die Konturen sind kaum zu erkennen. Auch die Klarheit ist runter gedreht. Aber... Genau so wollte ich es haben als das „Studio“ aufgebaut wurde.
Ergebnis: Ich bin begeistert. (Darf man von seinen eigenen Bildern begeistert sein? Und wenn ja, sollte man das lieber für sich behalten?🤔 Egal... Ich bin begeistert 😃)
Ja ok, die ISO ist ´ne Vollkatastrophe. Aber sonst?
Als Spike ein Baby war hat er unser Einkaufskörbchen bekommen, weil er immer so gerne darin gelegen hat. Wir dachten da passt er eh nicht mehr lange rein...jetzt ist er 9 Jahre alt und liebt sein Körbchen noch immer und wie ihr seht passt er noch gut rein.

Amico is our new dog after our Vizsla Lady "Dorka" died.
We have much pleasure on him.
Physically he is a grown man, but he is playful and affectionate as a child - or just like a Vizsla. :-)

This week's theme of the Happy Caturday group is "Warm colours". Luckily Tofu looks equally good with warm tones as he does with blue and he seemed to enjoy posing for some photos. This week's Happy Caturday theme is "Nobility" and that is definitely a theme for Cleo. I haven't taken photos of her lately as she was mainly indoors and in a state of semi-hibernation due to the ugly weather. Today I literally carried her outside for a photo and once she was in the garden she realized that it was nicer than she had thought. She even wanted me to serve her meals outside and of course I comply with her every wish.

... says the vet but I have come to the conclusion that I should avoid exercise whenever I can. My efforts in this respect have been quite successful in the past already but there is always room for improvement. So this is my New Year's resolution ! Happy Caturday !

Here is Tofu in our herb garden. I think he was after an insect when I took this photo but the plain truth is that Tofu isn't the best hunter. I often think that he enjoys watching other creatures more than actually hunting them. Sometimes he makes a half-hearted attempt, though. :)

When I return home Tofu often awaits me at the backdoor of my garage. I suppose he hears my car and then heads to the garage to greet me although he always pretends that he has waited there for hours. It's nice to be welcomed home, though. :)

Summer is the time when the cats hide in the shade most of the day because it is too hot for anything else. Tofu has found himself a nice place behind the new rain water tank in the garden. It may be a small shaded area but it has the advantage that the other cats haven't discovered it yet. :)

I post this for the Happy Caturday theme "Our cats by numbers". Not very inspired, I know, but the summer heat has a negative effect on the cats' willingness to cooperate as well as on my creativity. :) Happy Caturday !
I think I don't exaggerate if I say that Tofu is the most peaceful cat I have ever had but like most cats he looks his peaceful best when he is asleep. :)

This week's theme of the Happy Caturday group is "Love" and this photo of Tofu may seem to be a strange choice. I chose it because I personally love this photo as it shows Tofu's lovely fluffiness and his curiosity, two of many aspects I love about him. It also shows that although Tofu loves nothing more than lurking somewhere under a shrub or tree and watch birds, he still occasionally interrupts this activity to check out what I am doing and to spend time with me, which tells me that he loves me too. And, last not least, this photo shows a Tofu who makes me laugh every day and that's one of the main reasons why I love him. Happy Caturday !
I admit that I had planned another kind of photo of my chess pieces but it seems that my cat didn't like the setup. He jumped onto the chess board, chess pieces were flying all over the place and he was obviously very pleased with himself. I gave up and took a photo of the "slightly" modified scene. Cats always win ...

This photo is an unplanned snapshot which luckily works for this week's Happy Caturday theme "Up". I opened the kitchen window, looked down into the garden and there was Tofu looking up at me with his big blue eyes. The camera was nearby and I managed to take this photo before he was distracted (see photo in the comments).

Sethi visits the various catmint plants in the garden every day, even if most of them are buried in snow again at the moment. The catmint inspection is part of his daily routine and there are few events which could stop him from doing that. Snow obviously isn't want of them. :)

I took this photo for the Happy Caturday theme "Paws". The paws belong to Sethi and they protect his favourite catnip plant. We have several catnip plants but this one (which was never been planted but grew wild in the garden) has quickly become the firm favourite of all the cats and whoever gets there first will make sure that no other cat will go anywhere near it.

Here is Tofu relaxing on his scratchpost next to the window (and right above the radiator which works again, hooray !). The moose on the windowsill is something I recently found at the Christmas market of a local garden centre and couldn't resist. What can I say, I love quirky things. :)
This is the maximum of physical activity you can expect from Cleo, especially in Winter when she is in hibernation mode. A positive side effect of this kind of "workout" is the fact that it sharpens her already quite dangerous claws which she will probably revert to on the occasion of her vet visit next week ... :) Happy Caturday !
I took this photo for the Happy Caturday theme "Sleepy Cats". Getting a photo for this theme wasn't as easy as it seems. Yes, cats sleep a lot, but they are suddenly wide awake if you point a camera at them. :)

Tofu is pretty much a perfect cat. He may not be very brave and he isn't a great hunter either (which is rather positive if you don't want to find dead birds or mice every day) but he is a gentle soul, gets along with everybody and has never really bitten or scratched me, not even if I had do do something he hates, like combing him or giving him medicine. Tofu is a perfect companion for Cleo too as he respects her a lot and usually doesn't bother her. :)

This is Cleo's contribution to the theme "In the Light" of the Happy Caturday group. She wasn't really IN the light, it was rather behind her but I was happy that I managed to lure her outside for a photo. Not only was she reluctant to interrupt her hibernation but she was also still angry because she had had to see the vet earlier that day as she has a nasty ear infection.

I post this photo for the Happy Caturday group theme "Faces". Originally I had opted for a photo of Sethi but that was a profile shot and I wasn't sure if that was acceptable. So Tofu is kind of the number-two choice this week but that wasn't the reason why he was sulking. Oh the reality was so much worse. Two or three water drops accidentally hit him when I was watering the garden. A major disaster ! He didn't talk to me for quite a while until he remembered that I am the one who fills the food bowls ...

Surprisingly we had some sunshine today and I even managed a photo of Linus on some of the autumn leaves which have found their way from my neighbour's maple tree into my garden. Taking this photo wasn't as easy as it seems as Linus thinks that leaves are quite boring, especially if we don't have wind and they don't move. The only leaves he is interested in are those which are still on the trees and which he tries to shake down.
... but apparently the colour thieves forgot a little bit of red colour on his nose !:)
I post this photo for the Happy Caturday theme "Black and White". Sethi was my only option for this theme as Tofu looks spooky in b&w and Cleo doesn't talk to me at the moment because she had a vet visit yesterday. :)

... when cats suddenly have long ears ...
Tofu is the only one of the cats who accepts to wear bunny ears for Easter. For now he still considers these photoshoots as a game whereas the others would see this as an imposition. I add two more captures from this photoshoot in the comments because my photo model was so cooperative. This is Tofu's contribution to the Happy Caturday theme "Spring Cats".

I took this photo of Sethi for the Happy Caturday theme "Black & White". Sethi had to volunteer because mono works best for the tabbies (Tofu looks like a ghost in black and white). I always love other people's b&w photos and never like my own but I did my best (although Sethi wasn't convinced). :) Happy Caturday !
Like all cats Tofu looks like a baby when he is asleep, especially when he hugs one of his toys. At the moment the favourite toy and sleeping companion is the rabbit in the carrot. :)

Tofu has had his cardboard castle for almost two years now and he still loves it. If he wants to be left in peace he hides in it and if he wants to watch his world from a slightly higher perspective he sits on top of it. The main advantage is the fact that the cardboard castle is located near the backdoor and allows him to watch the comings and goings of his feathered friends at the birdfeeder without having to go out into the cold.
