I know a lot of people hate ad cards.
In fact of all the things requested on swap-bot and postcrossing profiles the most, it is usually NO AD CARDS.
Now for the most part I can understand this, people want something lovely, and a lot of ad cards are weird, but I love, love, love, love ad cards for art exhibits.
A lot of times they show a piece of the art, and it is pretty high quality and it is like having a piece of that art with you for always, a piece you can share, or keep, AND you have the name of the piece and the artist so you can look it up and have that information for always. Which is nice if you have a memory like swiss cheese, which I just happen to have.
This I sent away, because I thought it would be appreciated, but the artist is Thomas Neff, and it is from his Katrina: Holding Out and Hanging On Exhibit that was recently at a local university (Regis) here in Colorado. Check out his site, the photos are amazing.

Gaby is my patient that I have been changing bandages for about 1.5 months now. Her parents were devastated to come home and find she had massive dog bite wounds to her right hindleg. Poor thing's thigh had been chewed down to the bone. We flushed her wounds and managed her medicallyo with regular bandage changes & antibiotics. She is very close to full recovery now.
Xena is her sister that demanded to come along to the vet visits as she hated being left alone at home...

The We Are Bradford anti-EDL event, initiated by UAF but backed much more widely, saw over 1,500 anti-fascists gather despite intimidation from the police. The protesters correctly stood up against a sustained criticism from groups such as Hope Not Hate – which was against any event in opposition to the EDL in the city centre on the day.
The event included performances in conjunction with Love Music Hate Racism, speeches from local leaders and activists, Trade Union Branches and banners from across the TUC, Bradford Women for Peace, NUS LGBT and a wide range of mutlifaith and cultural organisations.
It was a bad day for the EDL as hundreds of people, including local Asian youth, also spontaneously opposed the EDL at their gathering place. The EDL had far fewer than they hoped for on their protest of hate—fewer than 1,000 and were reduced to fighting one another. When a small group of the EDL broke out of their pen, they were met by instant opposition from bystanders and local people.
We Are Bradford was a successful show of anti-racism and not only reflected the unity of Bradford in opposition to the division and racism of the EDL but represented the feeling of the vast majority of people across the country.
