First, let me be clear - I'm cheating here and I apologize... today I sallied forth with the Mid-week Enchanted Lens Camera Club (ELCC) Marauders. Snow and rain... yes for two plus hours. Challenging and "moody" light... yes. Muddy paths... yes!
We went to photograph geese and cranes and so we did. We also went to Weks and had "organic and low-cal breakfast fare" along with double helpings of good cheer.
Anyway, for me, a poor photographer, the light was simply too formibable so I post here a photo from the same venue only seven days earlier... I know! Cheating...
Shout out to Barry Schwartz for organizing and leading our trek to the Mt Everest base camp this morning... also got to meet Lynn Loomis, like Barry, one of my heros and inspirational creatives. Final shout out to Weks for their "heart-healthy" Pancake Combo breakfast and "trash-can-o-hashbrowns" that I will be nibbling on for the next two days!

This is what barista offers in the name of full english. Sadness indeed. The juice was good. The accompanying literature too. Submitted to "full english" because the world needs to know of this travesty.
As we all know ... it's not breakfast unless a pig is slain.
Once inside the Moulin Cafe, I ordered a typical American breakfast of OJ, fried eggs, bacon, toast, and coffee. This is what I got.
I didn't ask for the hash-brown potatoes, but they came anyway; and I didn't ask for milk or cream for my coffee, but it came anyway. I got enough bacon to feed a small army, but I ate every bite.
Note: I chose this as my "photo of the day" for Nov 23, 2015 -- a day that would have been my father-in-law's 106th birthday. R.I.P., Dave Nash.

In early November 2015, I flew from New York to San Francisco to take a weekend street-photography workshop under the tutelage of Eric Kim. As you might expect, I took gazillions of photos; but not all of them were specifically associated with the workshop itself. On the way out to San Francisco, I took a bunch of pictures with my iPhone; and during the weekend, I took a number of photos that had little or nothing to do with street-photography per se.
I’ll upload the photos in dribs and drabs during the next several days, and let you decide which ones are sufficiently interesting to warrant a second look…
The bacon is rather shy, hiding under the fried bread. The accompanying sausages, hash browns, tomato, mushrooms and fried egg, were, however, soon devoured!

My biscuits and gravy at Dot's.
What made this dish really work was that the gravy was made to order: the second I ordered it, some onions and sausage were diced up and started on the fry pan. No canned gravy here.
The homefries were pan-fried to order as well, which made them much crisper than most home fries.
However, the hashbrowns which the next couple down the counter ordered looked even cooler. I'll have to get those next time.
