1952 Canadian Car & Foundry, Fort William ON, Harvard 4 "Bessy" CF-UFZ at the Boundary Bay Airport (CZBB) Delta BC with owner/pilot Tony Swain in the cockpit. Photo was taken back in the mid 1990's.

 

This Harvard is an RCAF veteran having served in the RCAF with No. 1 Air Navigation School, No. 2 FTS Moose Jaw, SK and No. 4 FTS Penhold, AB. CF-UFZ is now owned by the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association in Tillsonburg Ontario and is still in flying condition.

The Memorial Hall commemorates those Harvard graduates who died in the Civil War. It is only recently that those who were on the Confederate side have been acknowledged.

KF183 was built by Noorduyn in 1944 as a Harvard IIB. It was used for tests and training test pilots from 1947 until 2010, when it was retired.

I took a brisk walk to the Harvard campus yesterday on my day off. I just love the old trees and wonder about all of the great minds that have walked through here!
