These are 'The 10 Commandments Of Safer Drug Use', which I suggest are an absolute minimum, even if you are a regular and long term user. When using personally, I always try to force myself to remember that complacency breeds tragedy.

This video is simply intended to spell out some of the basics, which too often are overlooked, with tragic consequences. If you know anyone who isn't taking this as seriously as they should, please do pass it on to them. Share and post it wherever you wish: it may make a difference to someone somewhere.

Don't skip the safety measures. Thank you and stay safe.

It's a colourful area.

Someone inside the tent overdosed and the man bending down was frantically trying to revive her.

These are 50 of the 157 drugs I self-administered whilst writing The Drug Users Bible, selected at random from the photographs in this account.

The complete version of The Drug Users Bible has now been published: and this definitely is the final cut. I’m getting too old for the constant drug touring, and the ride cannot go on for ever.

For this edition I added an extra 25 psychoactives, bringing the total to 182. These were:

3-MMC

a-PHP

Carisoprodol

Zopiclone

Sentia

3-HO-PCP

Snus

5-MeO-DMT

Modafinil

Sananga

Ginseng

Green Tea

Horny Goat Weed

Yerba Mate

Cacao

DOM

Chamomile

TMA

Hops

Mullein

Saffron

5-HTP

Mad Honey

Essential Oils

1cP-LSD

Some of these were definitely scraping the bottom of the barrel but I had to cover them for some sort of completeness (at least in terms of common perception).

Various sections were also substantially expanded, some new segments were added, and a significant number of previous reports were extended/improved or added to. The new page count is 636, making it literally a weighty tome.

More information is available on the book’s website or on Amazon.

Finally, my 12 year journey has ended, but it isn’t the end of the road. I will continue to ‘research’, to post on parts of social media, and attempt to disseminate harm reduction information wherever and whenever I can. You haven’t heard the last of me.

Regarding the book, I hope it continues to be a useful resource in preventing tragedy, both now and long after I have shuffled off this mortal coil.

At the height of my experimentation I had 6 drawers of different psychoactive botanicals running at once, plus a case for the bulky stuff. I’m not sure which are in each drawer specifically, but overall I sampled and documented the following (taken from the book’s contents page):

PSYCHEDELICS

Ayahuasca, Cebil, Chaliponga Leaves, Fly Agaric, HBWS, Iboga, Magic Mushrooms, Magic Truffles, Morning Glory Seeds, Ololiuqui, Salvia, Sananga, San Pedro Cactus, Sinicuichi, Syrian Rue, Yopo

STIMULANTS

Betel Nut, Coca, Ephedra, Ginseng, Green Tea, Guarana, Guayusa, Horny Goat Weed, Khaini, Kola Nut, Wormwood, Yerba Mate, Yohimbe

SEDATIVES

Blue Lotus [+Pink Lotus Flower +Red Lily], Cacao, Catnip, Chamomile, Damiana, Frankincense, Hops, Imphepho, Indian Warrior, Kanna, Lavender, Maconha Brava, Marihuanilla, Mullein, Mulungu, Passion Flower, Rhodiola, Saffron, St. John's Wort, Skullcap, Valerian Root, White Sage, Wild Dagga, Wild Lettuce

NOOTROPICS

Catuaba, Celastrus Paniculatus, Ginkgo

ONEIROGENS (DREAM HERBS)

Calea, Entada Rheedii, Mexican Tarragon, Mugwort, Ubulawu

DELIRIANTS

Datura, Nutmeg

UNCLASSIFIED

Cannabis, Kava Kava, Kratom, Mad Honey, Mapacho, Opium, Rapé, Sakae Naa, Tobacco.

As you would probably expect, many of these produced positive experiences; in fact some were astonishing in nature. Others however were relatively bland, with a few being truly horrendous, and indeed, traumatic.

Something I did learn early was that the need for a harm reduction process didn’t just apply to my chemical journey: due diligence and proper research are essential pre-requisites for all forms of psychoactive exploration. I burned myself too often. Stay Safe.

Harm reduction refers to public health policies designed as a practical response for people who are unable or unwilling to stop using drugs. Its immediate aim is to limit the transmission of blood borne infections, particularly HIV and Hepatitis B/C. Photo: Trinn Suwannapha / World Bank

Currently, there is a lack of clean injection equipment for drug users in Thailand. Only a small number of community-led projects supply needles. At this center, a volunteer is providing clean needles. Photo: Trinn Suwannapha / World Bank

There is a widely held misconception that drug users will discard dirty needles in public places and that this poses an HIV infection risk. Studies have shown that drug users will safely dispose used needles in proper containers like these if given the opportunity. Photo: Trinn Suwannapha / World Bank

"People are dying because of ignorance.

They are dying because unremitting propaganda is denying them vital safety information.

They are dying because legislators and the media are censoring the science, and are ruthlessly pushing an ideological agenda instead.

They are dying because the first casualty of war is truth, and the war on drugs is no different.

This book makes a major contribution in confronting this tragic and harrowing narrative."

The Drug Users Bible documents vital harm reduction and safety data for over 150 recreational drugs, inclusive of dose thresholds, onset times, duration and direct experience reports. It provides essential safety procedures, addiction and overdose information, legal briefings and a wealth of material to support drug users and their families.

Padlock the door and board the windows

Put the people in the street

"It's just my job," he says "I'm sorry."

And draws a check, goes home to eat

But at night he tells his woman

"I know I hide behind the laws."

She says, "You're only taking orders."

That's how every empire falls.

From Amazon:

“Over a 10 year period the author self-administered over 150 psychoactive substances; both chemicals and plants. For each of them he recorded the life-sensitive safety data, including the anticipated onset times, the common threshold doses, the routes of administration, and the expected periods of efficacy. For every compound he also produced a trip report, detailing the qualitative experience itself, often in the form of a log of effects at various time checks. This delivered another invaluable insight, enabling for example, an objective assessment of the extent of any loss of judgement and self-control.

This is a substantial body of work, embracing a wealth of direct support material, including addiction/overdose advice, legal briefings, and relative harm tables. Its contents also extend to cover aspects like drug tourism, drugs in culture, psychedelic exploration and the handling of mandatory drug tests. It is crammed with detailed reference data, and even includes its own drug dictionary.

The Drug Users Bible is a unique and unprecedented volume of encyclopaedic research, spanning 514 pages and embracing the full extent of the drugscape. Its objective is to provide, without fear or compromise, core and critical information to support the health and welfare of the 250 million people in the world who use drugs“

Olivia's friends created a memorial; while lighting a candle and adding items of love; two of her friends opened their broken hearts over the loss of their 17 year old friend nearly 2 weeks ago.

...to the world, their loss is just another statistic to be ignored.

The death of 17 year old Olivia was deemed "non-suspicious" ..by a government who suspiciously takes too little action, too late; ignores the lived-experience and harm reduction experts; and toys with forced incarceration for youth addiction ...instead of dealing with the core issues and embracing compassion.

As is typical for all protests addressing poverty and drug war victims; few citizens attended, giving tacit permission to the government to maintain the drug war and the cruel levels of poverty so many are affected by.

"The experiences and perspectives gleaned through these interviews point to the harmful effects of policing on the physical and mental well-being of members of the Victoria street community, a majority of whom use illicit drugs, live with disabilities, and/or suffer from chronic illnesses. These findings highlight the need for yet another revisiting of the use of policing to regulate poverty, as an approach that encourages a disproportionate and unjustified interference with the daily lives of the most marginalized members of our communities, and misuses resources to criminalize rather than alleviate poverty."

This was the least I could compress this down to without completely losing its meaning. To fit it into one moderate sized image I had to cut various illustrations, a couple of forms, and some instruction on issues like the use of scales. Nonetheless, hopefully it still conveys some useful points for the unaware; not least that safety is of paramount importance.
