Meanwhile on the lake, ducks glide silently and make ripples on its calm waters. There is something nostalgic in the reflections of the golden trees in the water. The trees become as abstract as an old painting, not in oil or acrylic, but in colored water.

Big Spirit of the North, giving wings in the air of water to flow and rain and snow, covering the earth with the crystal carpet over which every sound is beautiful, we stand in front of you.
Fill us with the strength to withstand the snowstorms and help us to thank you for the beauty that springs from the warm earth when it wakes up.
The Great Spirit of the East, the land that rises in the sun, you hold in your right hand the years of our lives and on the left the opportunities of every day.
Prepare us not to reject your gifts, nor to miss the hope of every day and every year.
The Great Spirit of the South, where your warm breath melts the ice around our heart, its aroma speaks from distant springs and summers, dissolved our fears, melted our hatred, burned our love with the flames of truth.

Sunset time and the elements were in perfect harmony with each other.
The evening blues, the vibrancy of the setting sun and this lovely halo of aqua glow on the horizon.
My piece on display at Gallerie de Beaux-Arts this season. The theme for this exhibit was "Inspiration," and we were asked to write some words about what inspires us.
Inspiration for me is evoked from many angles and senses. I love the way ideas are formed. They grow from something. Music, in particular, is often referred to being able to speak, when words fail. I think the same can be said for photos. They become the projection screen of what we're trying to get across. I personally enjoy combining the two and submerging myself in what it is I want to project.
This piece, Photographic Harmony, has allowed me to go back through my personal photos and appreciate my own growth over the years. It has been a fun challenge for me. So many of my photos were inspired from songs I felt something from. I ended up imagining an orchestra of some of my music-inspired pieces.
Sometimes, you'll find inspiration from inspiration!

I can't include my honest first-reactions on this NC... they weren't words to use in polite company! *chuckles*
I remember years ago looking through some of Brody's really early pictures, and even though he hadn't refined his skills, his sense of style and his artist's eye were already so definite.
In one way that doesn't seem so long ago, but on the other hand when I look at the pictures Brody produces now I am truly blown away by both the skill, but very much also by the thought which has gone into the subject.
I don't think Brody's art has ever looked as amazing as it does these days, but I am sure it will get even better!
