estava lá no hopi (pra variar :B), tomando um sorvetinho na place de la glace com meus amigos, quando comecei a observar as árvores e os detalhes ao redor ... tantas vezes por lá, e nunca tinha prestado atenção nisso! achei legal para fotografar *-*

Det är ett vitt hårsvall som fastnar i grenarna när vättarna varit uppe och festat om natten och vid gryningen får bråttom ner i sina hålor!
SMHI:s förklaring är dock lite annorlunda:
När lufttemperaturen är strax under noll grader och vatten tränger ut ur ett icke fruset stycke trä, fryser vattnet i omgångar och bildar detta svall av is som ser ut som sockervadd eller varför inte vätteskägg.
Det verkar inte vara ett helt förklarat fenomen eftersom SMHI skriver att det (nog) inte rör sig om rent regnvatten utan möjligen har en inblandning av bakterier, pseudomonas syringae.
Hair ice (also known as ice wool or frost beard) is a type of ice that forms on dead wood and takes the shape of fine, silky hair.It is somewhat uncommon, and has been reported mostly at latitudes between 45 and 55°N in broadleaf forests. The meteorologist and discoverer of continental drift, Alfred Wegener, described hair ice on wet dead wood in 1918, assuming some specific fungi as the catalyst, a theory mostly confirmed by Gerhart Wagner and Christian Mätzler in 2005. In 2015, the fungus Exidiopsis effusa was identified as key to the formation of hair ice.

Taken at Chester Zoo, This photo was taken only 3 days after Hari lost his brother. He seemed rather upbeat and playful.
taken last night while dad was washing dishes...he'll spend hours washing dishes and wiping down the kitchen counters....he takes great pride in his work and is always asking me to come see how he's done...
his other fave activities are sweeping the porch, raking leaves, watering the yard and flowers...but it is too cold outside for that now...I'm happy he still enjoys doing these simple tasks...even watching tv can be a struggle at times as he can't follow the plots much these days...but mom has music shows and music playing alot on the tv, and that really perks him up- he likes to sing along and dance...

Something expressively enigmatic with the words mata hari. Think of the legendary Javanese-Dutch dancer who became the stuff of espionage legend.
Etymologically, mata means the eye in Indonesian, Malay, Cebuano or Tagalog. With hari the word for day in Indonesian, mata hari literally is the sun in indonesian. Interestingly, hari means differently in the Philippine dialects where it stands for king. Surely, the sun can be the Royal Eye.

Exactly 100 years ago, 15 October 1917, Mata Hari the most illustrious spy in modern history was executed by a French firing squad. Born as Margaretha Geertruida Zelle in 1876 in Leeuwarden (Friesland), Mata Hari has been a famous dancer in her time. On the crest of the "Belle Epoque's" fascination with exoticism she became an international sensation overnight when she performed a daring Javanese temple dance in 1905 Paris.
Her turbulent life as dancer, femme fatale, icon, and (unwilling ?) spy for the Germans (her process will hopefully be reopened, now that documents are scheduled to be declassified) was recently the subject of an evening-length ballet in Amsterdam, with choreography by Ted Brandsen, music by Tarik O'Regan, sets by Clement & Sanôu and costumes by François-Noël Cherpin.
On the photo Igone de Jongh as Mata Hari, Dutch National Ballet/Het Nationale Ballet (2016). The ballet is revived this very month in Amsterdam.
