Cranesbill or Hardy geranium in my garden. Still struggling with my wrist so not on Flickr much. Have a lovely Thursday everyone.
Gatekeeper Butterfly on Cranesbill in my garden. Internet problems & hubby not well so will catch up when I can.
I had two fairly recent slides that I'd not uploaded, so, it being Sunday, I decided to slide them together - HSS
but I come with a pre-loaded gun. I just do the labors, the proper labors of doing it. I try not to feel too much :-)

This was an also-ran for yesterday's Smile on Saturday theme. I've given it a Sliders Sunday boost though...

In my garden yesterday, I have no idea of species. The hardy Geranium flower is quite small, I have lots of them in the garden as they are superb ground cover & smother most weeds. They are blooming better than ever this year after a wet spring. Will not be posting many photos for next 10 days as on our travels but hope to be able to make a few comments if wifi works well
My dad's favourite flower. This plant is from his original plants grown at my old home. I brought a clump with me when I moved house & since then many of these plants have been divided & shared. I always think of my dad when I'm gardening as he was the person who spent many hours over the years showing me how to care for a garden.
I have always loved the gaps, the spaces between things, as much as the things. I love staring, pondering, mulling, puttering. I love the times when someone or something is late-there's that rich possibility of noticing more, in the meantime poetry calls us to pause. There is so much we overlook, while the abundance around us continues to shimmer, on its own.

Hardy geraniums are flowering perennials comprised of many cultivars, species, and hybrids within the Geranium genus, collectively called cranesbill geraniums. These are commonly-grown, low-growing, dense, carpet-like plants, not to be confused with zonal geraniums. Ours are an enlivening bright pink which we welcome in early spring.

According to the RHS web site this hardy geranium was discovered by a Lincolnshire vicar. It is a deciduous perennial, growing to around 2 feet in height. It spreads well and needs very little maintenance. This one is growing in the garden by the war memorial in the centre of the village.
Thank you for your visit and your comments, they are greatly appreciated.
They love these hardy geraniums and their weight overbalances the flowers.
Thanks for your comments and faves.
