“What if I’ve forgotten the most important thing? What if somewhere inside me there is a dark limbo where all the truly important memories are heaped and slowly turning into mud?...the thought fills me with an almost unbearable sorrow.”
― Haruki Murakami, Norwegian Wood

either that or it's a Libby in another dimension (kinda like the matrix) LOL

The California Missions really are amazing. They're the oldest buildings we have in the state, which isn't saying much since there are buildings in Rome and Israel and other places which are thousands of years old. But for our area it reflects a more simple time. And the construction of these great missions are a testament to those who worked many long, hot days to create them.
This is probably my favorite image of the day because Caiden was just walking through room after room at La Purisma Concepcion, amazed by all the 'cool stuff' in each room. And then he paused in this room long enough to watch something pass outside.
Right time, right place.
Time out for Patches. She jumped into this cardboard box as soon as it had been emptied. When you're a cat, it's all that you need.
Patches is now 6.5 years old.

Read about rococo style.
Rococo is derived from the French word rocaille, originally meaning the bits of rocky decoration sometimes found in 16th-century architectural schemes. It was first used in its modern sense around 1800, at about the same time as baroque, and, like baroque, was initially a pejorative term (see baroque art and architecture). The revival of the rococo occurred gradually during the 19th century, beginning as a vogue for collecting French 18th-century pictures and furniture and for imitation rococo interiors.

Just some of the things that catch my eye as I go about my daily chores :-)
Have a lovely Tuesday and thanks for the visit.
This home has great views of Park City as well as the Park Meadows Golf Course. One thing visitors will notice in the home is the use of natural materials to create the feeling of being at one with nature. Jaffa Group Design Build takes great care in selecting the appropriate materials for each home.
The most beautiful version of this song you will ever hear.
Playing with polas...I promise no more picture posting today.
A view standing inside the Brooks Lodge, looking to the north. With this image, I decided to focus on the fireplace area where people would gather around and enjoy the warmth of the fire, sitting in the chairs present. Behind is the dining area.
Our tree comes down today.
Eric wins. :-)
With good reason.
(this is way better bigger & on black)
Explored #123! Thanks friends!
With the extra daylight time I had before my flight, I used that time to spend with my adopted golden retriever, Charlie, even enjoying a nice neighborhood walk. Here he seemed to pose for me as if giving me a few moments of him actually being still.
A tradition, you might say, that I've done before heading out on any of my longer trips: capturing an image of my goldens as they relax, sleep, or ignore me :-) Here my newest adopted golden, Logan, was laying down on the hardwood floors in my apartment studio. For the image itself, I used a vignette effect of a light drop-off and blurring from the center. Obviously the idea was to bring all the focus to his head as he waited patiently for me to finally take an image!
Happy Scarlet Sunday!! I rarely post on the weekends but wanted to start my valentines day shots this week :) sorry, I'm starting early. And as we all know I LOVE hearts <3
HAPPY SLIDERS SUNDAY!!
I save my wildest efforts for SS. I hope you can either see the juggling ghost I see, or something else equally strange and interesting.
I am getting these unusual images on the wood floor in my living room.October afternoon light comes in through a floor-level frosted window pane, then through a "grill" created by a hot water radiator in front of it, and finally,
through the leaves of a potted plant on the floor.
The refracted result includes these bokeh-like circular bright spots--the balls being juggled by my ghost of a gypsy juggler.
Post-processing included cropping for composition, saturation of the colors, and increases in contrast and sharpness. The image is NOW what I saw!
IMO, cameras often need help create the image I envisioned..
Uniike the human brain, they lack imagination. AI may change this!
Location: Riehen BS Switzerland.
In my album: Dan's Miscellany.
Inside the Sunbury Plantation house, St. Philip Barbados.
Construction of the main house was completed in 1670 and it is one of the few houses on the island from that period, that have not been destroyed by hurricanes.
I'm not certain where I got the idea for this image. Oh, I have a copy of the image but can't quite seem to find the link on 500px anymore. The image was of a person lying down on the floor with a pair of bluejeans and Chuck Taylor's. The focus point seemed to be on the threading and strings in the shoes, with everything else out of focus. To capture something similar, I opened up the aperture as wide as I could, focusing on the shoestrings to my front. As my own touch to this image, I decided to also include my acoustic guitar and set that up off in the distance and slightly out of focus.
