Haven't been around for a while. Been busy with one thing and another, but spent Sunday at Hard Rock Calling at the Olympic Park. This one of Mr Springsteen and Mr Lofgren is one of many photos of a wonderful performance by The Boss and the E-Street Band! Mustn't forget all the other great bands too....will try and upload some other snaps too...when I get the time! :-))

Taken at 'Hard Rock Calling' between acts. This was a 200mm zoom of the new apartments surrounding the Olympic Park, I liked the symmetry and just altered the colour and balance of a few segments. Well I like it!! :-))

Another one of The Boss! Might be a few more to come but trying to choose the best ones and doing a little careful editing too. Quite pleased with the sharpness from my lovely little FZ100, especially as it is taken whilst being jostled in the crowd and with the 35mm equivalent of a nearly 600mm telephoto!! Hope you like? :-))

In Hyde park yesterday...i had to take a picture of these two :)

(while my wife was in the loo!!)

Here are a selection of snaps from last weekend's Hard Rock Calling concert at Hyde Park. I was restricted to the old point & shoot due to rules and wished too hell I had the Nikon! So frustrating when the camera was trying to focus (or was that me and the beer?) but at least it had a zoom which is handy considering the distance.

Above we see Chrissy Hynde looking far too good for her age. Must be that veggie diet!

The Pretenders were one of my favourite 'modern' bands when I was still at school and an out & out rocker with no time for punk noise and disharmony. The Pretenders had that melody which would later be the vital ingredient for my chosen music and it was a pleasure to finally see them live.

Taken late on in the show at 800ASA when the light was low. My little camera struggles in low light but I liked this image of Bruce with his little sister and everyone looking SO happy!! It was a great show :-))

The Boss with his mum up on stage at Hard Rock Calling. My little camera stuggles in low light and this was taken at 800ASA at over 400mm zoom. Not the greatest quality but a nice capture (I think) of the human side of Mr Springsteen :-))

i seem to recognize your face

haunting, familiar, yet i can't seem to place it

cannot find the candle of thought to light your name

lifetimes are catching up with me

all these changes taking place, i wish i'd seen the place

but no one's ever taken me

hearts and thoughts they fade, fade away...

hearts and thoughts they fade, fade away...

i swear i recognize your breath

memories like fingerprints are slowly raising

me you wouldn't recall, for i'm not my former

it's hard when you're stuck upon the shelf

i changed by not changing at all, small town predicts my fate

perhaps that's what no one wants to see

i just want to scream...hello...

my god it's been so long, never dreamed you'd return

but now here you are, and here i am

hearts and thoughts they fade...away...

hearts and thoughts they fade, fade away...

hearts and thoughts they fade, fade away...

All the thoughts you never see

You are always thinking

Brain is wide, the brain is deep

Oh, are you sinking?

Feel the path of every day

Which road you taking?

Breathing hard, making hay

Yeah, this is living

Look for love in evidence

That you're worth keeping

Swallowed whole in negatives

It's so sad and sickening

Feel the air up above

Oh, pool of blue sky

Fill the air up with love

All black with starlight

Feel the sky blanket you

With gems and rhinestones!!!

See the path cut by the moon

For you to walk on

For you to walk on...

Nothing left, nothing left

Nothing there, nothing here...

Nothing left, nothing left

Nothing there, nothing left...

Nothing left, nothing left

Nothing there, nothing here...

See the path cut by the moon

For you to walk on

See the waves on distant shores

Awaiting your arrival

Dream the dreams of other men

You'll be no one's rival

Dream the dreams of others then

You will be no one's rival

You will be no one's rival...

A distant time, a distant space

That's where we're living

A distant time, a distant place

So what ya giving?

What ya giving?

unsealed on a porch a letter sat

then you said, i wanna leave it again

once i saw her on a beach of weathered sand

and on the sand i wanna leave it again yeah

on a weekend i wanna wish it all away yeah

and they called and i said that i want what i said

and then i call out again

and the reason oughta' leave her calm i know

i said i know what i wear not the boxer or the bag

ah yeah can you see them

out on the porch yeah but they don't wave

i see them round the front way yeah

and i know and i know i don't want to stay

make me cry

i see ooh i don't know why there's something else

i wanna drum it all away

oh i said i don't i don't know whether i was the boxer or the bag

ah yeah can you see them

out on the porch yeah but they don't wave

but i see them round the front way yeah

and i know and i know i don't wanna stay at all

i don't wanna stay yeah

i don't wanna stay

i don't wanna stay

i don't don't wanna oh yeah ooh ohh

state of love and trust

as I busted down the pretext

sin still plays and preaches

but to have an empty court, uh huh

and the signs are passin, grip the wheel

can't read it

sacrifice receiving the smell that's on my hands...hands yeah

and I listen for the voice inside my head

nothin', I'll do this one myself

lay her down as priest does

should the lord be acountin'

will be in my honour, make it pain

painfully quick, uh huh

promises are whispered

in the age of darkness

want to be enlightened

like I want to be told the end...end, yeah

and the barrel shakes

aimed directly at my head

oh, help me, help me from myself

and I listen, from both sides of the bed

nothin', I'll do this one myself

oh oh oh myself....Myself

yeah, yeah

hey, na-na-na-na, hey that's something

hey, na-na-na-na, hey that's something

hey, na-na-na-na, hey that's something

wanna back, back it away , yeah

and I listen, yeah,

for the voice inside my head

nothin', I'll do this one myself

and the barrel waits,

trigger shakes

aimed right at my head

won't you help me

help me from myself

eh oh eh o ehh

eh oh eh o ehh

Waitin', watchin' the clock, it's four o'clock, it's got to stop

Tell him, take no more, she practices her speech

As he opens the door, she rolls over...

Pretends to sleep as he looks her over

She lies and says she's in love with him, can't find a better man...

She dreams in color, she dreams in red, can't find a better man...

Can't find a better man

Can't find a better man

Ohh...

Talkin' to herself, there's no one else who needs to know...

She tells herself, oh...

Memories back when she was bold and strong

And waiting for the world to come along...

Swears she knew it, now she swears he's gone

She lies and says she's in love with him, can't find a better man...

She dreams in color, she dreams in red, can't find a better man...

She lies and says she still loves him, can't find a better man...

She dreams in color, she dreams in red, can't find a better man...

Can't find a better man

Can't find a better man

Yeah...

She loved him, yeah...she don't want to leave this way

She feeds him, yeah...that's why she'll be back again

Can't find a better man

Can't find a better man

Can't find a better man

Can't find a better...man...

The Boss is back in town!

It was another marathon performance from Bruce and the E Street Band......The only way they could stop him after playing for over 3 hours was by turning off the speakers while he was duetting 'Twist & Shout' with Paul McCartney! He played the same song as an encore when I first saw him on 7th July 1985........feels just like yesterday!

Before anyone comments, I know its not the sharpest pic, but at 300mm zoom in the middle of a 80,000 crowds what do you expect....... and do I care?.........
