Sidekick Spitz rests on the dashboard while I waited in the car this morning for more balloon action for the Albany Art and Air Festival. This was right along hwy 34, Hubby alerted me to balloons taking off, and landing in south Albany fields. I love how she's all 'flying frog dog' posed right there! Don't see how it could be comfy, but she seemed to think it was!
Don't worry, we were parked, and the vehicle was off ;) Since we were along a busy road (Dea, I and dogs) I decided between snapping pics to leave everyone in the car since it was safer than standing along the road!

Saw this guy walking across the field and was struck by the silhouette of the shovel. I was able to dig up the camera and get the shot before the light turned red. He probably worked harder that morning by 9a.m. than I did all week. February 27, 2013.
Captured this the other day, and wasn't really impressed at all by just looking from the display on the camera (350D you know, haha!) Until I opened the file on the computer, the result wasn't too bad! The focus was on the ants which I wanted to.
I cropped out a little bit of the photo and adjust a little bit of the colour. Hope you guys like it!

Most Hani women make their own clothes and they take great pride in their cotton weaving skills. The cloth is made on bamboo looms with foot-operated bamboo pedals, a hand-operated wooden carding system and poles for the yarn.
In Ghana, hardworking individuals often prioritize work over self-care. But there's a unique self-care ritual that's both practical and efficient – using the Ghanaian sun to dry their hair while they work.
In a country where time is precious, many Ghanaians wash and set their hair but can't spare the time to sit under a hairdryer. Instead, they turn to the reliable Ghanaian sun. While going about their busy workdays, they let the sun naturally dry their hair, harnessing nature's power to save time and money.
This practice is a testament to their resourcefulness, showing that self-care can be integrated into even the busiest of lives. It's a reminder that self-care doesn't always require elaborate routines; sometimes, it's as simple as making the most of what's readily available.
So, when you see a Ghanaian worker with their hair drying in the sun, appreciate the ingenuity behind this practical form of self-care.
