Last weekend we were out of town with a horse competition and I didn't post a slider image. Most of the week I've been processing pics and haven't had much time to create new stuff so I had to dig into the on deck works and seems like a good time to post "Pepper Gradient No. 27". A composite of peppers and windows and a bit of a color gradient. All the best to everyone and to all the mothers out there, Happy Mother's Day (HMD) and to all a Happy Slider Sunday (HSS)

Mother's Day is on the second Sunday of May.
In 2023 Mother's Day is on May 14.
Mother's Day is not a stat holiday in Canada. It is celebrated in many countries around the world but not on the same day, although most countries celebrate Mother's Day in May.
It is a day meant to honour mothers and appreciate their role in society and their role in families.

Wishing all who celebrate Mother's Day on Sunday, May 10th, 2020, a very Happy Mother's Day! The novel coronavirus has made this a very different Mother's Day for many families. Whether or not this is your time for celebrating mothers, I wish you all a happy, healthy Sunday. Please stay safe, my friends.
Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers present and those who have passed on. My mother passed away in Nov 2017 after a long illness. In a way it is a relief after seeing her health and physical condition deteriorating slowly during the 20 odd years suffering from Parkinson disease. We missed you mum.

Colorful carnations
Over time, different colored carnations began to take on their own meanings. Because of their history, fragrance, and “heavenly soft” texture, white carnations became popularly thought of as the flowers you left at the gravesite of a mother who had passed away. And even though it was white carnations that originally became popular, red carnations are also considered the official Mother’s Day flower. However, red carnations are believed to be a gift for mothers who are still alive, as it was believed carnations’ deep red petals represented that of a beating heart and love, rather than loss.

There are not enough days in a lifetime to let our mothers know how much we love them. Hope you are having a great Mother's day weekend. I was hoping to get some wood duck ducklings images this morning but no luck with the rain... maybe later today will get a bit more lucky. This one is from better weather days :)
