This image is part of my photographic series "Almodis, Countess of Montferrand", which I invite you to discover in the list of my albums.
By consulting the photos in chronological order, and paying attention to their titles, you can follow the story of Almodis's life as Countess of Montferrand - according to the freedom of my novelistic interpretation, the first known chatelaine of the fortress so named.
In 1085, Count Pierre de Melgueil paid homage to the Pope and began the bipolarisation of the county of Substantion, which became the county of Melgueil and Montferrand. Construction of the castle of Montferrand began at the same time. The Count did not survive the completion of the project, and probably died as early as 1086. His widow, Almodis, inherited the castle and administered the county for the rest of her life.
Many thanks to Ana Lys for the double session (and the two walks...), which were necessary to obtain the different 'phases' of the narrative. Thanks also to Suzanne for the loan of the '1085' dress.
i took her for a walk which freaked her out, she doesn't like walks because of all the scary stuff out there but we're working on it. then lucy and i went to the bank. then we came back home to empty the trash and she got excited over some plastic. oh, to be a dog!

Oh my goodness. Squamish is a town full of dogs! Big dogs. Little dogs. Purebreds and breed-unknown dogs.
While it's not common to meet someone actually born here in Squamish you could say the same about our dogs. We have dogs arriving from breeders all over North America and many others rescued predominantly from California, Mexico and South Korea.
This is Murphy. She was rescued from Pemberton which is north of Whistler B.C. She is 4 months old. Spaying and neutering exist less often in rural places. Murphy was one of 10 puppies.
I'm sure, with the selfless commitment of people who foster puppies and dogs, all of Murphy's siblings are in a loving home now.

Some dogs simply grab at your heartstrings a little harder. Wispy is one of those dogs. She is such a wonderful, happy character. She deserves the best!
