The changing of the seasons,
the rising of the moon,
Golden, restful hours
on a lazy afternoon,
The music found in laughter,
the beauty found in truth,
The wrinkled eyes of wisdom,
the innocence of youth...
Dreams the heart has woven,
letting go of cares,
Reaching out, and helping out,
and countless answered prayers,
The loving bonds of family ties,
and understanding friends,
The chance to make a difference,
the will to make amends,
Having someone's hand to hold,
the promise each day brings
The key to happiness is found
in very simple things.
A photog at our friend's wedding took this pic of us. It's one the best pix of us in human history. It's ours now. :)
Happiness is chasing sunrises, sunsets, and everything in between. It's the loud music that goes with it and the adventures with friends. It's everything from road-trips to aimlessly driving and ending up in crazy cool places. XOXO Tara & Marley

I saw this on a tree opposite one of the narrow boats on the Grand Union Canal near Rickmansworth. In case you can't see it, the quote is from William Blake and says "Happiness is something to love, something to do and something to hope for".

Happiness is like a butterfly which, when pursued, is always beyond our grasp, but, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.

The grand essentials of happiness are: something to do, something to love, and something to hope for. --Allan K. Chalmers
Dr. Chalmers had a passion for social justice that stemmed, not from a superficial optimism, but from a deep faith in the possibilities of human beings when they allowed themselves to become co-workers with God.--Martin Luther King, Jr.
When we think of nature we generally think about beautiful vistas containing tranquil forests, rivers and mountains, vast oceans and exquisite sunsets, and although this is certainly one vision of the natural world, bhakti yoga wisdom gives us a different perspective that is essential for our happiness.
We often refer to nature as “mother” because we have come out of nature and are sustained by her. Bhakti wisdom expands on this understand, explaining that nature is the ultimate source of all bodies and that our happiness is determined by the body that she supplies.
Why are there so many bodies, or species, in nature?
Srila Prabhupada explains,
“There are 8,400,000 different species of life, and these varieties are creations of the material nature. They arise from the different sensual pleasures of the living entity, who thus desires to live in this body or that.”
What is the relationship between our body and our happiness?
“When he is put into different bodies, he enjoys different kinds of happiness and distress. His material happiness and distress are due to his body, and not to himself as he is. In his original state, there is no doubt of enjoyment; therefore that is his real state.”
The body that provides the most happiness is our original nonmaterial body, and the bhakti-yoga process revives that body, providing the best vehicle for natural happiness.
