While walking inside the Prince of Wales Hotel in the main open area with a view looking south. This is in Waterton Lakes National Park. What I wanted to capture with this view was the interior of the main lobby area of the hotel, with the view beyond the windows. I knew there would be a difference in exposures between what was inside with the lighting versus that of the outside view and mountains. I chose to underexpose the image in order to later adjust the outside highlights in post production. I knew that I wouldn’t have many issues bringing out the more shadowed area in the interior. The dynamic range of my Nikon D850 SLR camera definitely impressed me in how I was able to bring out many of the details in the mountains and lake outside, given how bright it was.

Thanks to my man Jon Downs (if you are not familiar with his work click his name to be presented with one of the most creative flickrites out there), for giving me the idea for the title. Jon got an unexpected preview of this many weeks ago, and quite frankly I am not sure why I waited until now to make it more broadly public. So moving it up in the Flickr time shift continuum to make it present today and hopefully to be enjoyed. :-))))))))
Leadenhall Market is a covered market in London, located on Gracechurch Street but with vehicular access also available via Whittington Avenue to the north and Lime Street to the south and east, and additional pedestrian access via a number of narrow passageways.
It is one of the oldest markets in London, dating back to the 14th century, and is located in the historic centre of the City of London
Just Above Ceiling Height
Looking barely down on a ceiling holding lamps in suspension is a perspective that gives a different view. Closing time leaves mostly darkness but they hadn't turned out these lights. The array forms a pattern that joins a ceiling sporting patterns of its own. Splashes of light illuminate just enough to show off details. Spots of other colors offer punctuation - a bit of added interest.
It's a diptych in appearance, even though it's been done in a single frame - either side could stand alone.

even on a short week (i was on my way back from a weekend in nyc on monday), friday is oh so welcome. i hope you all have something wonderful in store for the weekend. i have a few plans up my sleeve, but it might rain. which, despite the fact that it would ruin my plans, would be so welcome. and don't worry, i have some backup rainy day plans up my sleeve too...

Købmagergade, one of the oldest and busiest pedestrian streets in Copenhagen, Denmark, stretches from Amagertorv to Nørreport station. This "shopkeepers' street", with roots dating back to around 1200, features a remarkable gallery of red brick arcades with white vaults, characteristic of 17th and 18th century Danish architecture. The arcades, with their uneven cobblestone paving and overhead lighting, offer a protected pedestrian route, reflecting the city's long history and architectural evolution. Købmagergade is also home to one of Copenhagen's most iconic landmarks, the Rundetaarn (Round Tower), an astronomical observatory built in the 17th century by Christian IV, part of a complex that included a church and the university library, accessible by a spiral ramp. The street is an important urban axis, known for its shops, cafés and the harmonious integration of contemporary architecture with the city's historic buildings.

Very nice place to dine and enjoy an adult beverage. Good food, drink and service when we visited. This a wider view than the previous photo. I spent a lot of time trying to get this result. I hope that you like it.

Saw these hanging fiber optic lights in a restaurant. You can see one that's a bit in focus. It was a challenge to get the phone camera not to focus on all the others, so I took the photo while it was still trying to focus. #33/366? I think.
