Macro Mondays: Blue

The crane is in HO format

We haven't had any snow all winter until today when we had a little and the rain melted it after three hours. Meanwhile there were a lot of birds hanging out with their friends, like this cardinal that was with his female partner.

Catching up slowly, thanks so much! 💕

Not so long ago, poor Tiny lost his brother, Kafara so he's now on his own in a new enclosure. He was completely at one with the universe when I took this shot.

Not many more days left for this early flowering crocus.

One of several Marsh Wrens that were singing and bouncing around the reeds at Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge, Smyrna, DE.

It feels great to slow down sometimes and having deep and meaningful conversations with good friends.

Refreshing...

Deep Blue Day

Fire Flag Plume Moth (Sphenarches anisodactylus) (family Pterophoridae)

One from last week. We have had a bout of a tummy bug through the family over the last five days, as often happens it came home from the school!

In the end, everything will be okay. If it's not okay, it's not yet the end.

Fire Flag Plume Moth (Sphenarches anisodactylus) (family Pterophoridae)

Only the second Plume Moth I have seen this year.I first spotted it on a Seaside Daisy in the breeze and then it flew to the grass. It was hanging on tightly in the stiff breeze.

I apologise in advance if I am slow catching up with your images.

I am not getting any notifications from Flickr, either by email or activity feed.

In the garden today

It is 25 degrees F. (-3.8 C) here this morning; I'd say there goes the tree blossoms. Hope not. We took a pause in yard work yesterday until it warms back up. I walked down to the dock and shot this when I saw how beautiful the low hanging clouds looked. Enhanced in Topaz Studio.

Well I have checked and LOADS of things froze; but not all.

A rainbow lorikeet perched on the ornamental pear in my back garden today.

It is raining here. Keep dry and enjoy your post-Halloween chocolate!

The leaves in our backyard could barely hang on as the winds swept.

It's time to sweep the leaves on the ground that had fallen from the trees in our yard.

Just hanging around the rain should have been the title. Nasty weather, but a pretty little Palm Warbler was a nice surprise.

Orange Lauxaniid Fly (Sapromyza sp.

Family Lauxaniidae)

Have a fab FriYay and a super weekend everyone.

Happy Fly Day Friday!

More from the dawn patrol with Eddy. Nice to see the cliffs and rocks behaving well after making an effort to be on site for the sunsire. Thanks cliffs.

Blue Skimmer Dragonfly (Orthetrum caledonicum)

The first Blue Skimmer I have spotted this season. It didn't choose the best place to rest for me to get a shot. Should have had the macro lens with me!

It was a foggy cold day yesterday and we went to our local wood for our permitted exercise and I tried -honestly I did try to get a mysterious looking tree shot as I have been inspired by so many of my Flickr friends shots. Did any of mine look like an enchanted forest ? No, so here are a few crinkly leaves on a couple of wispy branches instead. I enjoyed trying though and also watching Merry and Beau who honestly believe that wood is their back garden......

Thank you so much dear Flickr friends for all your encouraging comments and faves. I enjoy reading them all and get inspiration from all your wonderful photography too....Sue
