Yeouido from the Hangang Bridge in Seoul, Korea

Down by the Han river in Yeouido Hangang Park, in the south of Seoul, people come for picnics and hire small tables and chairs for the day. Even pop-up small tents are rented too. Food stalls also line a street within the park area.

You can't help noticing how clean and tidy the whole area is and how everybody respectively goes about enjoying their time by the river with family, friends and dogs on leads.

The wolf is made of recycled plastic and is found at the Yeouido Hangang Park that runs alongside the Han river in Seoul.

Banpo Hangang Park,

Some Sevit,

Banpo Hangang Park,

is located on the southern bank of the Hangang River, between the Hannamdaegyo Bridge upstream and the Dongjakdaegyo Bridge downstream, with Banpodaegyo Bridge in the center.

The park extends for 7.2 km and is adjacent to Banpo-dong in Seocho-gu and Heukseok-dong in Dongjak-gu.

The park is home to the "Moonlight Rainbow Fountain", as well as the Water Bubble Playground, an inline skating rink, a soccer field, a basketball court, and other sports facilities.

Some Sevit,

is a cultural complex consisting of three artificial floating islands near the southern end of Banpo Bridge.

The islands were created with the theme of "flowers of the Hangang River" and represent sight, life, and earth, as well as a flower in various stages of life.

The largest island, "Some Gavit", symbolizes sight and is shaped like a flower in full bloom.

It is a multifunctional cultural facility that can be used as a venue for performances, international conferences, exhibitions and more.

The second island, "Some Chavit", looks like a flower bud, an image of life. Here you will find a series of cultural experiences and event zones including Beat Square, Youth Woods and restaurants that use 3D to bring the themes to life.

The third and smallest island, "Some Solvit", is shaped like a seed planted in the earth.

This island has water sports facilities and an open-air garden where you can enjoy the picturesque scenery of the Hangang River.

A little break from Hawaii photos. On the same trip I had to fly from Hawaii back to California and then on to China, Hong Kong and Korea. This was one on the tail end of the trip and I was pretty exhausted by this time, but also a little obsessed with getting a decent photo in every location. I found a photo on flickr by photographer Douglas Knisely that used this bridge to great effect. Here's the photo, I highly recommend you check it out: flic.kr/p/fHP16p.

Sadly, my model (that would be me) is definitely not as photogenic as the one that Douglas used in his photo. I also switched it up by using a different side of the bridge and shot at different time of day. Finding the location for this photo took a *lot* of detective work, and a lot of walking! Unfortunately Douglas' photo (and other photos in this location) had no location info. So I took to Google, but in all the photos of bridges in Seoul I searched on the web, exactly NONE of them looked like this. And there are over 20 bridges around Seoul, so trial and error was not going to work. I found one other photo taken in this location which had a slightly wider view and showed a tiny fragment of the bridge top. I was then able to narrow down to two possible bridges based on the color and walked around both ends of the most likely bridge until I found it! The task was made even more difficult by the fact that Google obscures the satellite images of Seoul (for obvious reasons).

The title is a double reference: 1) to a song from the musical Alexander Hamilton (one of 3 hilarious songs sung by the King George character, and a fantastic play!), which my daughters have become obsessed with, and 2) to the recursive tromp l'oeil created by the morning light on this fabulous set of arches.

For anyone else that wants to check out this location, it is on the north side of the Hangang bridge (aka "Peace bridge").

The Jabeolle (J-bug) cultural complex is located in Ttukseom park, Seoul. The building’s futuristic design is based on an inchworm and curves around from the subway station to the riverbank. Inside you can enjoy exhibitions, read books in the library, or view the Han River from the observation deck.

We were enjoying some shopping and street food in buzzing crowd and ran into some people who told us about this park and this musical show. We rushed and could be there and enjoy the last minutes of the show! I didn't have a tripod and had to take this shot, handheld and quickly. In that situation, I think this came out at its best! Thanks to those friends from U.S, we had a great time!!! I bumped on them because I was lucky to see this, that was I felt lately.
