My wife recently passed her tests to become an Enrolled Agent with the IRS. Trust me, in the tax preparation world, its kind of a big deal. Unfortunately, an Aston Martin does not seem to come with the new title.
I wonder what I'm doing #taxseason #procrastination #ihatepaperwork 📝

The Crossett High School general business class of Mrs. Charlene Thomas visited the H and R Block office on Main St. Tuesday morning to get some expert advice on a hypothetical tax problem. Mrs. Maxine Freeman (seated, far left) explains the difference between joint and individual returns to make-believe couple Pat Slemko and Mary Brady. H and R Block's Jerry Freeman watches at upper right.
I have another shot of this same block in my North Carolina Small Towns Set. I was traveling through Red Springs on Saturday and got held up by the Christmas Parade. Here is a shot of part of West 3rd Avenue. Red Springs is in Robeson County, North Carolina

I was just sitting on the downtown A train subway tonight, coming home from the Junot Díaz event, when I looked up and saw...MY BROTHER ON AN ADVERTISEMENT ON THE SUBWAY TRAIN. I asked the people in the seats obscuring the sign to move so I could take a picture BECAUSE THAT'S MY BROTHER and they amusedly obliged.
Apparently, his picture has found its way, through some nefarious photographer who took his picture for a lawfirm at which he previously worked, and then distributed it as clip art, into various advertisements....so now he's in all these advertisements. And he doesn't get a dime. He gets a kick out of it, though. We have amassed quite a collection. He's been a Japanese doctor selling natural shampoo, a Prudential businessman, a doctor endorsing a political candidate, a dentist selling Oral-B, and now he's (a tax accountant?) selling H&R Block's tax services. The entire gamut, as I like to say, of Asian American stereotypes. HAHAAAAHAAAAA!
The best part is just being surprised by random sightings of his picture in advertisements. It's like easter eggs.
