My niece, Maddie, helping me make melt and pour soap. We're putting orange, hot toddy cold process soap balls into the soap for a decorative touch. This soap is scented bayberry for the holiday season.

Shot of the full booth. We still need to get more height in our display, but considering how quickly this was 'thrown' together, it turned out better than we expected! I want to make some colorful cloth panels to hang on the walls to help break up all the white.

As flores de lavanda também podem ser usadas secas em sachês e ursos de pelúcia como esses que vemos nas fotos tiradas nos mercados das praças de Aix-en-Provence. Para quem quer levar para casa outro tipo de lembrança o ideal é passear pelos magníficos campos de lavanda no planalto do Vancluse, no departamento de la Drôme, du Gard e ao norte de Nîmes."

It has been 24 hours and I have un-molded the soap and cut it into average sized bars. The soap can now be used or left to harden a bit longer. And that, my friends is how you make soap.
I used the following ingredients in this recipe;
250g Palm oil
250g Coconut oil
250g Olive oil
108g Lye (sodium hydroxide)
248g Distilled water
20 drops Tea Tree essential oil
1 L of vinegar for washing off any Lye spilt on your skin.
If you decide to make this soap then there are some things I have to mention, safety wise.
When you make lye soap, SAFETY is the PRIMARY concern, ALWAYS.
Any equipment/containers/utensils you use to make soap should NEVER be used for food. Keep your soap making stuff separate from the stuff you use for food.
ALWAYS use STAINLESS steel or boil proof plastic containers to mix your lye and soap in, NEVER use aluminium. Aluminium reacts with the lye to form hydrogen gas and that can be explosive.
Try and avoid using glass containers for mixing your lye water solution as the lye will corrode the glass and cause micro fractures which will eventually lead to the glass shattering unexpectedly.
REMEMBER: Lye aka sodium hydroxide aka caustic soda is VERY CORROSIVE and WILL damage paintwork/wood and it WILL HURT (plenty of ouchies) if you splash it on your skin. If you do accidentally get it on your skin wash it off immediately with vinegar and water. That is why you have to wear goggles, gloves, long sleeve shirt, long pants (trousers), and closed toe shoes (no thongs or flip-flops). Remember, plenty of ouchies.
