The solution will be quite warm as the Lye is reacting with the oils to produce soap. The action of the oil being transformed into soap is called "Saponification".

Hm, these were supposed to be pink. I even poured and left them at room temp after making them from scratch. Then one day - brown. Too much vanilla, I guess.
We start with an infusion of Green Tea essential oil and aroma of fresh cucumber and the sweet juicy scent of freshly sliced melon to make this wonderful tea soap. We also add the freshest green tea to make the perfect scent for all seasons. We also added poppy seeds for exfoliation. It’s a refreshing experience.
Ah, my face possibly is the worst combination. It's oily for the most part but sensitive. Sensitive to any scent in particular - essential oil or fragrance. It seems to be OK with unscented and tea tree oil only. Bummer as I'm not fond of tea tree oil's scent. I made this bar made mostly from avocado oil and chocked full of ground oats which purportedly is great for skin :) I prolly should've added whole avocado too to make it a nicer color. The oatmeal color is kind of bland . . .

I had opened it before, but noting the "don't use before date" I put them on the shelf and "reopened" it today after both bars matured enough to be used. :-)

My display at our new Artisan Centre. Needs more colour I think. So far I just have my handmade paper cards, soaps, lip balms and body butters and a bit of artwork. I'll be adding more artwork, art pillows, and mosaics, a bit at a time.
