I loved the texture of the crazy cracking.

This star, designed by Shuzo Fujimoto, has untypically shaped rays which make it look like the handle of an old tap. CFW 174 is a minor variant of CFW 133.

Taken for 117 pictures in 2017 #63 "handles", these are the door handles for a shop called Sur la Table, a high end kitchen supply store chain. This one is in Austin, Texas.. Look closely, and you'll see that the handles are in the shape of rolling pins, a nice touch.

Macro Monday's Theme: Handle with care. HMM

Fresh from photographing my wife's late paternal grandmother's Cooky Press gadget last week, this week I shot the tobacco pipes that her maternal grandfather left behind. They are an interesting piece of decor, I think, as these are only three from the dozen or so we have on a display rack. You might argue they aren't really 'handles' because they aren't what a pipe smoker would actually hold the pipe by. And you'd have an excellent point which didn't dawn on *me* until I was writing this caption. Think of them as mouth handles, perhaps, and we're all good.

when life

gives you lemons

what do YOU do

when your shoulders

seem to be heavy

and no one can

help carry the load

when you mind

plays games

and you cant

find the directions

how do you H A N D L E it?

we often

get by on a wink

and a prayer

smoothing out

the highs and lows

allowing some

to pass without

notice

until it all slams

into you

head on

no warning

will you be prepared?

do you have the tools?

where is your safety

and who is your support...

we cannot do this alone

we are not designed to

our Creator is there

no matter what

and he will take

whatever you dish

He can handle it all.

This is a semiabstract view of a tennis racket, looking towards the handle but from the inside of the racket.

It is an old and broken aluminiium racket that we sound on a tennis court.

#mood for Winter:

I'm driving home for Christmas

Oh, I can't wait to see those faces

I'm driving home for Christmas, yea

Well I'm moving down that line

And it's been so long

But I will be there

I sing this song

To pass the time away

Driving in my car

Driving home for Christmas

It's gonna take some time

But I'll get there

Top to toe in tailbacks

Oh, I got red lights on the run

But soon there'll be a freeway yeah

Get my feet on holy ground

So I sing for you

Though you can't hear me

When I get through

And feel you near me

Driving in my car

I'm driving home for Christmas

Driving home for Christmas

With a thousand memories

I take a look at the driver next to me

He's just the same

Just the same

Top to toe in tailbacks

Oh, I got red lights all around, uh

I'm driving home for Christmas, yeah

Get my feet on holy ground

So I sing for you

Though you can't hear me

When I get through

Oh and feel you near me

Driving in my car

Driving home for Christmas

Driving home for Christmas

With a thousand memories

I take a look at the driver next to me

He's just the same

He's driving home, driving home

Parnassia / Parnassia palustris

This plants are often found in wet calcareous habitats with low fertility, low canopy cover, and high plant diversity.

Such habitats are often becoming rare, and so species of Parnassia may have high conservation value.

I wanted to see how the Hasselblad lens handled the depth of field. I wasn't disappointed, really. And how could you be? These things are pretty nice, I guess.
