Great Spotted Woodpecker doing what they do best.

Ocean Park, Hong Kong

In former times in my region are made a lot of tools along the rivers. This is a old abandoned trip hammer you can find when you hike in our valleys. Many are destroyed during the second war and some are now museums.

I have found an explanation what a trip hammer is for the people which are technical interested

This is Bryce Canyon National Park. It is located in southwestern Utah, United States. The major feature of the park is Bryce Canyon, which despite its name, is not a canyon but a collection of giant natural amphitheaters along the eastern side of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. Bryce is distinctive due to geological structures called "hoodoos" formed by frost weathering and stream erosion of the river and lake bed sedimentary rocks. The hoodoo formation pictured herein is named Thor's Hammer. It is one of the most photographed formations in the Park. The red, orange, and white colors of the rocks provide spectacular views for visitors. Bryce sits at a much higher elevation than nearby Zion National Park. The rim at Bryce varies from 8,000 to 9,000 feet (2,400 to 2,700 m).

Deep in the woods and well away from the car park so it takes a good deal of effort to get this far. Consequently it was lovely and quiet when we got there

During loading, the small multi-purpose ship HAMMER began listing to starboard. Loading was immediately interrupted and measures were taken to stabilise the vessel.

This is a section from a shoemakers or cobblers hammer that is used in shoemaking. I have had it many years and had forgotten all about it until this challenge!

Making my way down the Navajo Loop Trail, I couldn’t but help to stop every few yards to take in different vantage points of not only the famous hammer hoodoo but the enitre amphitheater. I tried to get a lower perspective here to bring out some of the textures and plant life. This was one of my favorite hikes in the park.

The Hammer Dulcimer is an ancient instrument played by striking the strings with a wooden mallet (hammer.) There are many versions of the dulcimer from different cultures such as the cimbalom. The hammer dulcimer is from the psaltery family of instruments. There are two bridges on the dulcimer. My dulcimer has over 31 sets of strings on it. It is tuned using the circle of fifths. HMM!

A geological hammer, in memory of Mary Anning (1799-1847) from Lyme Regis/Dorset, fossil collector and lay palaeontologist and one of the key figures in the discovery of dinosaurs. She was not an "Anglican gentleman", not part of the establishment, but a dissenter and a woman and as such not allowed to join the Geological Society of London. "The world has used me so unkindly", she wrote. Mitakon Speedmaster manual lens at F 0.95; reflector used; edited in Fujifilm's raw converter and refined in Luminar.

We could hear this guy coming long before it rolled around the curve and under the Wheeling bridge. One of the best sounding diesels ever built, this pair of Conrail U25B's were on a mission with piggys hammering west at Oak Harbor, Ohio - May, 1978

St,Aldhelms head, rocks stacked and left by the quarrymen at this disused quarry , its meant to date back to Victorian times, not sure how they did it , as its right on the edge of a very high cliff, impressive and scary :)))

Well used tools of the trade.

Thor’s Hammer – Looks like Thor still has lost his worthiness with his hammer as it is sitting on top this hoodoo in Bryce Canyon. Really, though how can one go to Bryce Canyon and not take a photo of Thor’s hammer. I took a few different perspectives, and I will post some later as I have time to edit them.

The canyon below Chestnut Mountain on Bozeman Pass is filled with the sounds of hard-working vintage EMDs pounding up the grade on July 2, 1994. A trio of SD9s, a SD7, three GP9s and a GP35 power an eastbound 640 local and fill the air with exhaust. Who’s who on the head end is as follows: No. 601, former DM&IR (note the nose bell) No. 127, followed by SD7 607 and SD9 606 (both former SP), SD9 608 (former DM&IR), GP9 113 (former NP), GP35 402 (former DT&I), GP9 115 (former CGW) and finally GP9 106 (former NP). The location is at the old Northern Pacific station name of Chestnut west of West End, Montana. We followed and photographed this train all morning, and I only wish I had a recording of it here.

Couldn't believe how many Yellow Hammers I seen during my week in Scotland.

A rebuilt SD70MAC leads train M580 south as it barrels toward Winder, GA on the CSX Abbeville Subdivision. This was one of, if not the fastest, continuously moving trains I've seen on this line in years.

Thames Ironworks produced the world's first all-iron warship, HMS Warrior, which was launched in 1860.

Thames Ironworks FC, a football club formed by the workers of that company, was created on 29 June 1895. It later became West Ham United.

Apparently the yellow hammer has something to say.
