This shot of Dog Rocks has a halo for some reason probably to do with the filters in use. I like it all the same.
Ice crystals ,
A Sun halo is caused by the refraction, reflection, and dispersion of light through ice particles suspended within thin, wispy, high altitude cirrus or cirrostratus clouds. As light passes through these hexagon-shaped ice crystals, it is bent at a 22° angle, creating a circular halo around the Sun.
At first thought there was a problem with the lens, but it wasn't. 22º Sun halo in Serra da Estrela, Portugal at 1900 mts.
A 22° Moon halo with a rare 9° halo within.
This is a first sighting of two halos around the Moon, I have imaged them with the sun before

Halo, Rossendale

Rossendale's Panopticon, 'Halo', is an 18m-diameter steel lattice structure supported on a tripod five metres above the ground. From its position on Top o' Slate, an old quarry and former landfill site situated in the hills above Haslingden in the Rossendale Valley, it is clearly visible for miles around.
'Halo' is lit at night using the latest LED technology and after dark glows a sky-blue colour, appearing to hover above the town. This dramatic gateway piece overlooks the A56, welcoming visitors to Pennine Lancashire.

The whole weekend, the weather was bad and hence I wasn't able to take that many pictures. Luckily, the sun was breaking through for a few minutes yesterday, where I rushed outside to take a few after rain shots. I don't know exactly what flower or plant this is, but I really like the bright bokeh bubble behind the flower head. I hope you like it too!

I had high hopes for my shots from San Francisco, however the weather finally caught up with us and things did not go to plan. We wanted the fog on the roadway but it never got lower than the tower tops of the Golden Gate Bridge.
However, shot from the beach, I love this capture with the halos from the tower lights trying to fight their way through the cloud of fog. The fog was only in this position for a short time prior to the sun rising and I was pleased to capture this unusual perspective of this iconic San Francisco landmark.

My original photo was a spontaneous handheld iPhone shot. I think I did a pretty good job of holding still through the long exposure, but not good enough to capture the details of the clouds and halo around the almost-full moon. The iPhone night mode comes out too light, and the colors get saturated when the exposure is toned down. Still, i liked the Van Gogh-like colors of the sky. Finally, I thought this would be a good subject for the Prisma AI app, and was pleased to see what several did with moon and sky. This was my favorite. Perfect for Sliders Sunday.
The Pink Super Moon of today (handheld) , the way I saw it here , not pink. I don't know if I'm going to see another one anymore, with the coronavirus pandemic we never know. Hope this will finish soon and we still keep the hope till the end. Stay safe, my friends.

I think this has been the hardest image of this series to edit, the colors are just so intense. I've now been to every thrift shop in town and found so many beautiful and colorful dishes. Let's just say there are infinite combinations I can make now. Happy Saturday, it's lovely Spring like weather and I'm looking forward to a little time outdoors.
