Those moments that make you feel at peace. The stillness, the ducks slowly making their way across the pond.
This is why we get up early in the morning. I sometimes make up excuses to stay in bed and then regret it later.
Set your alarm, grab your gear and get out there shooting.
In 1926, San Francisco Hotel heiress, Margaret Stewart, commissioned renowned architect Julia Morgan to build this country estate, today known as Redwood Grove. The estate was part of a planned 1,290 acre resort community by the Benbow family.
Today, Redwood Grove has been conscientiously restored to the historical detail and grandeur characterized by Julia Morgan. Her design hallmarks included painstaking attention to detail and craftsmanship, which incorporate the owner’s private collection of art and antiques.

Clothing or 'soft goods' for Peanuts toys has a history almost as long as the toys themselves.
The Early Years: Hungerford and Determined Productions (1950s–1960s)
In the beginning, the most popular line of Peanuts toys was vinyl by Hungerford. When Determined Productions took over the license in the early '60s, they introduced some of the first soft-bodied dolls.
Fixed Outfits: Early Snoopy plush often had clothing sewn directly into the body or made of stiff felt.
The Red Scarf: The "World War I Flying Ace" look became the first "must-have" outfit, featuring a simple red fabric scarf and a brown aviator cap. *
The Golden Era: Knickerbocker and Hasbro (1970s–1980s)
This is when Snoopy became a fashion icon. The 1970s saw a massive boom in "dressable" Snoopy dolls.
Knickerbocker Toys: They released a highly popular line of Snoopy and Belle (his sister) plush that came with removable outfits. This mirrored the "Barbie" trend, where you could buy separate wardrobe sets.
Snoopy in Fashion: In the early '80s, the "Snoopy in Fashion" exhibition featured Snoopy and Belle in couture outfits designed by legends like Karl Lagerfeld, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Giorgio Armani. While these weren't mass-produced for kids, they influenced the quality and variety of retail plush clothing.
The Mall Era: Hallmark and Build-A-Bear (1990s–2010s)
As Peanuts became a staple of gift shops, the clothing shifted toward seasonal and "lifestyle" themes.
Hallmark Gallery: For decades, Hallmark released "Gallery" plush where Snoopy wore outfits based on specific holidays (Bunny ears for Easter, Santa suits for Christmas).
Build-A-Bear Workshop: The partnership with Build-A-Bear allowed fans to customize Snoopy for the first time. Clothing became standardized to fit the "standard" bear size, meaning Snoopy could finally wear a tuxedo, a hoodie, or even a superhero cape.
Modern Day: High-End & Streetwear (2020s)
Today, Peanuts plush clothing is often part of "collab culture."
Uniqlo x KAWS: These plush versions featured "X" eyes and minimalist, high-quality fabric clothing, often focused on Snoopy’s "Joe Cool" persona with simple t-shirts.
Peanuts Global Artist Collective: Modern plush now features clothing printed with abstract patterns and streetwear aesthetics, moving away from the "doll clothes" feel of the 70s toward "art toy" status.

In our toy collecting, plush is not a strong point and that remains true for our Peanuts collection. The 2001 'Many Lives of Snoopy' series from McDonald's Japan is a plush series that we featured from 2020-2021. Because each plush figure was themed, it was easy to create specific scenes.

Also, in Japan we did pick up a nice series of small plush, about 16mm. These plush seem to have the same origin though there are different tags. The Law Label (The label that is sewn to plush toys containing copyright and materials information.) always has 'Peanuts' and a copyright for United Feature Syndicate. The cardboard tag labels vary with many carrying the 'RM' label. All of the plush were manufactured in Hong Kong. So, we think a Japanese company (Perhaps Nakajima Corporation) manufactured these and released them to various distributors.
Most of these plush have no distinguishing themes or names but rather standard figures released in a variety of colors. We've photographed a couple from this series here:

So, rather than creating scenes with stories, we decided to feature these lovely plush among the Peanuts collection and provide some fun information.

Hallmark Farm - Warrior, Alabama. Photographed through the passenger-side window of a moving car. Having no leaves on the tree in front of the barn was nice. Happy Fence Friday.
The Headquarters of Hallmark Cards. Sunsets are my favorite part of the day. This capture has a little bit of everything that I love about photography. Sunsets, architecture, reflections, and water. The Liberty Memorial in the background is an added bonus.

Green screen picture, that really isn't even necessary anymore. Mostly Photoshop with some light touches of AI, (the fireplace , books, plants.) Sorry for the low-res. I couldn't find a decent backdrop in HD. Doesn't look like much but took a long time. Sometimes it goes like that. ☻
A Macro Mondays submission on the topic "Brands and logos". The silver hallmark is form of branding that is very old; this one dates from the early twentieth century.
Bert bought it for me at a local newspaper store.
It says: "hello, a small message" on the outside and "for you" on the inside.
I'm not one for these Hallmark moments--those perfectly polished slices of life that make us laugh, cry, and roll our eyes all at the same time. This is the best I got. Happy Valentines Day everyone.

The School of Bauhaus, by Walter Gropius. Dessau, Germany.
This building contained many features that later became hallmarks of modernist architecture, including steel-frame construction, a glass curtain wall, and an asymmetrical, pinwheel plan, throughout which Gropius distributed studio, classroom, and administrative space for maximum efficiency and spatial logic. It was a busy day of rail replacement buses passing through Staines upon Thames today (27/02/2021) with 20 departures an hour heading for Hounslow, Windsor & Eton, Weybridge and Ascot.
There were 17 operators out and about which between them managed to put on a show of 37 buses to keep me busy! And it was lovely and sunny too!!

When Hallmark took on its routes contracted to Surrey County Council in 2017, they originally used a mix of Scanias and Volvo Wrights from Bristol to operate their 458 and 555 services. Now, the routes are run by a fleet of newer Streetlites.
