Indigenous to the Hawaiian Islands (All the main islands except Niʻihau and Kahoʻolawe; on Oʻahu, present only near the summit of Kaʻala in the Waiʻanae Mountains and probably absent from the Koʻolau Mountains)*

Etymology
The generic name Lycopodiella is derived from the Greek lycos, "wolf," and podos "foot," referring to it's likeness to a wolves foot.
The specific epithet venustus is Latin for lovely, beautiful, charming, + -ulus, a diminutive suffix.

I usually don't edit THAT much but had to fix many flaws on this one. So this is how i clean my pics ^^
Snapshot taken in 5000 x 3000 px, antialiasing set to 4x with Viewer 2.6.8 shadows.
Used Pen tool (yeah the Bezier curve thingie that everyone hates) + smudge to correct outlines and smoothen mesh angles. Hairtips are redrawn with some smuge and a very thin brush, using wacom tablet. Trying to keep the pic as natural as possible. Soften the dropped shadow with a gaussian blur on a mask.
Colors edited with some curves/color balance layering.
