A small coastal observation post by the coast at Hackness, very near the Martello tower. It is constructed from reinforced concrete and has three small observation loopholes on the faces of the post facing north towards Flotta, west towards Longhope and east towards Scapa Flow. The post would likley have been constructed to watch over the defensive boom nearby.
It has been mentioned on comments in Canmore that the loopholes would be too small for observation and the structure may be a pillbox. I believe this to be incorrect. While some observation posts have large loopholes or apertures to observe from, they would be vulnerable to fire and shrapnel; and as the occupants would likely be civilian Coast Watchers (CW) they had no need for a position form which to fight from. The loopholes are neither large enough nor placed at the right position to fire a rifle from, never mind a larger weapon.

i signed up for a twitter account last wednesday using my usual "nevitsky" username. everything was fine until thursday afternoon. when i signed in, all my settings have been changed and i couldn't do anything anymore with my account. i was still able to sign in and log out. the update you see in this screenshot was the last update i made. this morning (friday) i couldn't sign in anymore. i looked at what my account online and the screenshot above is what i saw.
that account has been sending ads to people in the network. NAKAKAIRITA! NAKAKAINIS! makakarma ka rin...
The genesis of this project was a challenge from OpenIDEO and the Hewlett Foundation to redefine the way that "hackers" are depicted in the media and popular culture. Most often, "hackers" are shown as white males in their early 20's, or some shadowy guy in a hoodie.
In reality, "hackers" are comprised of a multitude of diverse people from all ages, genders, cultural backgrounds, and ethnicities. Even the term "hacker" is misleading as a hacker originally was simply used to describe a person with an aptitude for computers.
