Copper Harbor Cemetery
Sarah H. Broughton
b. 1801
d. December 19, 1853
Aged 51 Y. 1 M. 23 D.
Inscription:
"Mourn for the mourners, But not for the dead. She sleeps in Jesus, Blessed sleep."
"The cemetery at its foot, received its first occupant in December, 1853, in the person of my father's half sister, Mrs. Sarah Broughton. Prior to that time, burials were at the Fort, or elsewhere, though there were few of them. When I visited the place last summer, I found the remains of the fence I remember there when I was a child, fallen, mossgrown, nearly gone, and showing everywhere, both fence and enclosure, the marks of something more than neglect. It is something like sending flowers and eulogies to the funerals of those we have neglected and abused during their lives, when we extol the deeds of the pioneers, and allow their graves to remain without even the care which would keep the cattle from trampling their resting plaeces. That old cemetery holds the remains of some of the country's oldest pioneers, and practically no others. Mrs, Broughton was a D. A. R. on both sides of her family though no such organization existed when she passed. What better work for the Historical Society than to set the law to work, if there is a law governing the care of cemeteries, or to care for them themselves, so raising a monument to the spirit of all pioneers. Douglas Houghton never was a resident of that peninsula."

Due to the nature of Morecambe Bay with its infamous shifting sands the Royal National Lifeboat Institution has a hovercraft stationed in the town as well as a traditional lifeboat. The usual vessel is H-002 'The Hurley Flyer', but when that vessel is out of action one of the relief fleet is drafted in as cover and on March 6th, 2022 H-007 'Samburgh' was providing cover when pictured heading from the Hest Bank area back to Morecambe.
「You look so cute , You know ?」
們便交換了E_Mail和電話。
The famous hut where I played at soldiers as a private in 1956 & as a sergeant 1961/2.
This quaint building stands in the grounds of Beaumanor in Woodhouse, Leicestershire. It is now a grade II listed property.
In 1956 I was there as a trainee in the Intelligence Corps and in 1961/2 I returned as a trainer.
This particular hut was built in 1941 and designed to look like a pair of farm cottages to confuse enemy aerial photography! In fact the lower windows are false and inside was just one large un-insulated space, heated by one coal stove!

Transfiguration
Birds in cages, who knows what they were used for? But a sad pair of dove seemed to have transfigured into teacups…

I've been getting people IMing me asking me how H:YS has been since me and a group of amazing new friends have taken over December of 2011. I've never got quite the time to sit back and actually look at the work that we've done or the new additions that we've made, but tonight I wanted to take some time off and snap a few shots of them to share with you guys.
We've basically expanded the work done by Hoggy, Light and Jin -- 3 architects who we can't thank enough of. Each of the classrooms have their own interior design now, some new areas have been erected as well as dorms. However, with that in mind, we're still a brand new sim and have a ton to learn and grow from, but our doors are always open to those who love JK Rowling and the world she has created.
A huge thanks to Corwin, Soapie, Jazzy, Juniper and Elidon for being a great admin team to work with. Corwin especially who has kept me sane in times when I feel slightly high on caffeine. The ALOs for their constant hard work on application, the RPDs, Prefects and Professors who have contributed so much ideas and joy to the sim. And finally and most importantly to the members who constantly keep us alive and enjoying what we do. H:YS has been a side of SL I never explored before, and it's taught me a great deal number of things and ventured me off to scripting and building -- things I dabbled with but never seriously done. OH and how can I forget Sue, who's constantly on Skype hearing me moan and groan and scream and wriggle.
So enough blabbing and back to work for me! But I hope we'll hold an OOC preview soon so people can come on in and explore the new areas. Thanks for reading the rambling or looking at the pictures, we hope to keep expanding this place to its fullest potential!
Well 20 July 2019 is the next Skyfair, so here's a picture from the last one! :-)

I can see an "H" here. This is a wonderful bit of engineering built on either side of a road bridge, across the river at Battlesbridge, to strengthen it.
Heilanstalten H opened its door early 19th century. From 1902 till 1914 the hospital was expanding, a lot of new buildings and wings where build.
In 1911 Heilanstalten H was visited by the empress auguste victoria, wife of the German Emperor Wilhelm II.
Around 1935 Heilanstalten H was having its glory days and had specialized in rehabilitation and sport injuries. A lot of famous sportsmen and women where treated here. But not only patients came to H, one could stay at this resort to relax and be surrounded by nature. People who have stayed here (some several times) are Adolf Hitler, Heinrich Himmler, Rudolf Heß. But also delegations of respected doctors from Italy, France, Chili, Peru, Argentina and more.
During the war, in 1942, Dr Heißmeyer and Prof Gebhardt experimented with tuberculoses and bacteria on women and children mostly. They where prisoners at the concentration camps in the surrounding area. The doctors became known as the "concentration butchers". Gebhardt was sentenced to death in 1948 and Heißmeyer, who'd fled, was not found untill 1964.
After the war the Russians took over the Heilanstalten. They stayed till august 1993.

A classroom where you get to learn about tarot reading and all those mystical awesomeness. The magical teapots in the center with a small forbidden door off its side keeps this room extremely mysterious and alluring.
