An army of space invaders land in the Marais neighborhood in Paris. I think the other artist is Gz' Up.

PA_1432 [100 points]

Place Igor Stravinsky can be considered the "trone" of street art. Two huge fresques, one of Jef Aerosol Chut! made in 2011 and the 'fresque' of Obey (Shephard Fairey) called « The futur is unwritten » and created within 48 hours in August 2019 go a welcome new one made by Invader in December 2019; PA_1432.

On Wednesday December 4, a new iconic alien from Invader came to invade Paris. So far, nothing very unusual, the French artist installs his works in the streets of the capital since 1996. However, this time, it is 447 tiles 9 m high by 7 m wide that constitute the monumental mosaic of the invader from elsewhere, the largest work of the Street Artist. Entitled PA_1432, in other words the 1432nd tiled work installed in Paris.

PA_627 [30 points]

Never seen the original of this Rubik space invader in the 6ème arrondissement during its 1 year and about 3 months of presence in this busy street. Thanks to the re-activation team this one is back where it belongs.

The workers were a bit skeptical when I came to capture and flash PA_627 and told me it was not allowed to take pictures. I explained what my mission was all about.

Once the location of PA_303 (now deleted) at the other side of the street with the instersection of the Rue Martin Bernard this corner is part of the Lézarts de la Bièvre with this year (2014) Jace.

Rue Lepic 06/02/2018 19h38

Uphill traffic for cars without snow tires was quite a challenge on the hilly streets of Montmartre.

Paris sous la Neige

On the 6th of February and overnight to the 7th of February 2018 the city of Paris was slowly covered by a thick layer of snow. At least 15 cm of snow fell around the capital’s outlying suburbs, the biggest dump since 2013. Heavy snowfall across northern France overnight caused widespread travel disruption on Wednesday with hundreds of motorists spending the night in their cars and around 700 travelers sleeping in two Paris train stations. Heavy snow is not common in Paris. The average winter sees 15 days with some snowfall, but most of those are only a dusting.

Rue Lepic

Rue Lepic ends near Place Jean Baptiste Clement and the La Commanderie du Clos Montmartre. Rue Lepic is an ancient road in the commune of Montmartre, in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, climbing the hill of Montmartre from the boulevard de Clichy to the place Jean-Baptiste-Clément.

It is an ancient road resulting of rectification and re-arrangement of several dirt-roads leading to the Blanche barrier (Place Blanche), starting life as Chemin-neuf (Le chemin-vieux was rue de Ravignan). In 1852 it was renamed rue de l'Empereur, and renamed again in 1864, after the General Louis Lepic (1765-1827).

Louis Renault built his first car in 1898, calling his car the voiturette. On December 24, 1898, he won a bet with his friends that his invention was capable of driving up the slope of Rue Lepic. As well as winning the bet, Renault received 12 definite orders for the vehicle.

Yves Montand dedicated to this road the song "Rue Lepic" in the album "Yves Montand" (1974).

Lenght: 755 meters, quartier: Montmartre, Grandes Carrières.

I came across this scene on the Avenue du Président Wilson on my way to another brandnew space invader and I had to take this one. Japanese animation next to Palais du Tokyo with PA_424 on corner of the Rue de la Manutention in the 16ème arrondissement of Paris.

PA_1433 [20 points]

This space invader is dedicated to the fact that in 1999 Invader and street artist ZEVS worked under the name @nonymous and made a film about their secret urban adventures. To celebrate the fact that this is 20 years ago a re-edition of that film was shown on December 7th in Cinema La Clef, haut-lieu de résistance culturele in the Rue Daubenton. This is number 3857 in the world.

Rue du Faubourg du Temple 019/03/2014 18h03

Walking on a partly cloudy afternoon from the Belleville area to Place de la République. This street is a gives a good idea what is going on Paris and the rest of France. A mix of food, culture and people.

On the wall at the right: street art by ORÉ and GZ'UP (can't add notes anymore in 'new Flickr')

Rue du Faubourg du Temple

This street starts at Place de la République and ends at boulevard de la Villette. Has a length of 996 meters and a width of 20 meters. It is served by the 5 metro lines at Place de la République (3,5, 8, 9 and 11) and métro stations Goncourt (11) and Belleville (2, 11). A corner full of street art. Posters, paste-ups, paint splashes and you may name it. Paris artist Invader and graffiti artist Cost (Revs) seems to have a momentary cooperation with eachtother in Paris which results in posters and also in space invaders with the letters COST.

Once this spot was the location of the PA_407 (2001 - 2008)

PA_934 [50 points]

Due to the fact that I'm participating in the game FlashInvaders I will be revisiting a lot of active space invaders in Paris. This 2011 Mario character was one of them during my cold but sunny morning walk throught the 15ème, 14ème and 13ème morning walk. Still active after almost 4 years and now featuring GZ'UP and Anne Hidalgo, madame la maire.
