Passage de la Main d'Or 15/04/2018 10h18
This street has a rich history when it comes to street art. The very first space invader in the world used to be here and the original PA_133 together with the 'fresque' of ZEVS are still here. And in April 2018 PA_047 was re-activated as well. I'm sure a lof people are waiting for the re-activation of PA_1 (or PA_01 or PA_001) but I'm not sure if that will ever happen.

Street art and people. GZ'UP and Zigomart on the wall.
Rue des Francs-Bourgeois
Rue des Francs-Bourgeois is one of the longer streets in the Marais with a length of 705 meters.
Starting near Centre Georges Pompidou (rue Rambuteau), the road is considered trendy, with numerous fashion boutiques. Rue des Francs-Bourgeois is one of the few streets which largely ignores France's strong tradition of Sunday closure, even within Paris. As such, it is a popular location for weekend brunches and walks. Notable buildings include the ancient hôtels Carnavalet, Lamoignon, Sandreville, d'Albret, d'Alméras, Poussepin, de Coulanges, Hérouet, de Jaucourt, de Fontenay, de Breteuil and de Soubise. Hôtel Carnavalet houses the museum of the history of Paris.

The adventures of Daffy Duck in Paris start on this wall in the 5ème arrondissement. Daffy Duck is an animated cartoon character produced by Warner Bros. Styled as an anthropomorphic black duck, the character has appeared in cartoon series such as Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies, where he usually has been depicted as the best friend and occasional arch-rival of Bugs Bunny. Daffy was one of the first of the new "screwball" characters that emerged in the late 1930s to replace traditional everyman characters who were more popular earlier in the decade, such as Mickey Mouse and Popeye. Daffy starred in 133 shorts in the golden age, making him the third-most frequent character in the Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies cartoons, behind Bugs Bunny's 166 appearances and Porky Pig's 159 appearances. Covid-19 themed street art by GZ'UP in the 10ème arrondissement. GZ'UP is using about the same locations as Invader for it's street art. This one has been placed in the first half year of 2020 (Source: Google Streetview).

Duckface in front of this special space invader in the 5ème arrondissement of Paris which I finally captured in full sunlight...
Location: In the 5ème arrondissement of Paris, the space invader fans know where to go. The ones who like to search 'insert coins and play'.
Coordinates: 48°50'39" N 2°21'2" E
Reason: Space invader PA_1189 'Daffy Duck' was installed on 18/02/2016 and I was there to take photos only one day later during an evening. Took some pictures but not satisfactorily. Came back on a sunny morning on 03/04/2016 but Dafy Duck was already in the shade so it remained on my list to come back for a proper photo. And on this Sunday morning I came back at 09h15, the right time because due to the narrow East-West street this one is only 30 minutes in full sunlight. It's not always easy to be a photographer!

This big green space invader in Le Marais is part of the 127th wave in Paris and is number 4087 in the world. As we speak (July 2023) still the most recent Paris space invader. Followed by the invasion of both Fontainebleau (18 invaders) and München (18 invaders). In the background the Église Saint-Merri. PA_1485 is surrounded by work of GZ'UP, A2 and another one, a clock.

Q*Bert is an arcade game developed and published for the North American market by Gottlieb in 1982. It is a 2D action game with puzzle elements that uses isometric graphics to create a pseudo-3D effect. The objective of each level in the game is to change the color of every cube in a pyramid by making Q*bert, the on-screen character, hop on top of the cube while avoiding obstacles and enemies. Players use a joystick to control the character. This space invader is still the original of 13 years ago and survived the renovation of the building.
