My father who suffered from cancer of lung went out for seeing the Ichinokurasawa Gorge with us in his later days. Now we'll see his smile in this gorge when it is fine.
Mt. Tanigawa (谷川岳, Tanigawadake) is located in the boundary between Gunma Prefecture and Niigata Prefecture in heavy snowfall area. Mt. Tanigawa has the worst record of the number of climbers' accident deaths of the world.
The peaks of Mt. Tanigawa are Tomanomimi 1963 meters (above the sea level), Okinomimi 1977m (the peak of Mt. Tanigawa in a narrow sense), Ichinokuradake 1974m, Shigekuradake 1978m, and so on.
There is a restroom for the handicapped in the Ichinokurasawa parking lot.
