It is unknown how the Indian wild ass disappeared from its former haunts in parts of western India and Pakistan, since the animal was never a hunting target of Indian Maharajas and colonial British officials of the British Raj however India's Mughal Emperors and noblemen from the time took great pleasure in hunting it with Emperor Jahangir in his book Tuzk-e-Jahangiri testifying that it's meat is good to eat. In an illustrated copy that has survived of Akbarnama, the book of Mughal Emperor Akbar the Great there is an illustration of Akbar on an Indian Wild Ass shoot with several of them having been shot by him.
From 1958-1960, the wild ass became a victim of a disease known as surra, caused by Trypanosoma evansi and transmitted by flies, which caused a dramatic decline of its population in India. In November and December 1961, the wild ass population was reduced to just 870 after to the outbreak of South African Horse Sickness.
Besides disease, the ass's other threats include habitat degradation due to salt activities, the invasion of the Prosopis juliflora shrub, and encroachment and grazing by the Maldhari. Conservation efforts since 1969 have helped boost the animal's population to 4000
Happy Navratri to my friends!
Navratri is a Hindu festival of worship of Shakti and dance & festivities. The word Navaratri literally means nine nights in Sanskrit, nava meaning nine and ratri meaning nights. During these nine nights and ten days, nine forms of Shakti/Devi are worshiped during these days.

I shot this near a lane close to my house and these are Maharashtrian street merchants of hope.
Normally this profession has a lot of Gujrati migrants and near Chor Bazar on the Duncan oad part you will see hordes of them selling old sarees jeans trousers etc that got in exchange after giving steel utensils to the person from whom they bought the old garments.
Sometimes you get gems or branded stuff among the clothes they sell sparingly used, a lot of times stuff stolen by drug addicts from clothesline in front of the house windows.
The UP bhaiyyas mostly of the Muslim community are in the washing dyeing refurbishing of old garments at the lane behind Chimna Butcher street at Chor Bazar.
Once the clothes are ironed made new they are given to local lads to sell on the streets on Friday Bazar .
I bought some crazy stuff from these guys once upon a time specially Army surplus and rare breeches short coats , the breeches made in Italy I wear in winter as they are wool.
Scarves mufflers you name it they have it but I stopped collecting al this and have stopped gong to the Kamatpura and Chor Bazars since three years now.
Seeing this scene I was transported in time the street is an ocean of pictures dying to be shot.

Every morning on a Friday in the wee hours the entire population that wants to make money , pass time comes to this Market , goods from here reach homes as antiques , goods from here are bought by Chor Bazar dealers .
This is a street market of Waghris those Gujrati migrant that buy old stuff from rich homes , stuff that is useless but is of value to the collector or the poor man one mans poison is another mans need .
I came here for old cameras twin reflex , box cameras I could not afford to buy the Leicas but I had a collection of collectibles about 325 I sold them all for chicken shit as I had no space when I was moving my workplace to a newer smaller one .
The pictures of my collection are at my Flickr photo stream , I spent a fortune on them and I lost them all ,I have not gone to the Kamatipura Market since 5 years , but I meet the Waghris as they all know me , and they wonder why I stopped coming , I had a passionate urge for old books literary stuff , rare collection I sold that too to a friend who is an book dealer...I sold it all again for chicken shit..

The story of Four More Shots Please moves around four friends Damini Rizvi Roy (Sayani Gupta), Siddhi Patel (Maanvi Gagroo), Anjana Menon (Kirti Kuhari) and Umang Singh (Gurbani Judge). They move through their lives and try to find their own lane and come face to face with themselves. This self-discovery is not as simple as it sounds.
Anjana and accomplished lawyer and divorcee know that it is a high time for her to make some life-altering decisions and leave the traumatic past behind after an alcohol-fueled incident with her little girl Arya (Jiya Lakhani). She melts in the arms of a much younger guy Arjun (Ankur Rathee) knowing that he wants a marriage that she doesn’t.
Her baby friend Siddhi follows her footsteps. She is a rich Gujrati girl who is looking for love and her true calling and does not mind if she gets both. After her scandalous debut on a raunchy website is exposed by her future father-in-law, clueless and cute Siddhi sets out on tour to Istanbul where she drowns herself in gins and gigolos. This is then opening acne to the second season of the romcom.
The headstrong girl in the gang Damini Rizvi Roy is kicked out from the website she had built on her own. As she wants to fight against the hooligans of the system, she writes about the suspicious death of a judge but no one publishes it as the topic is very controversial. www.missfilmy.com/reviews-ratings/web-series-review/four-...

Wild ass graze between dawn and dusk. The animal feeds on grass, leaves and fruits of plant, crop, Prosopis pods, and saline vegetation. It is one of the fastest of Indian animals, with speeds clocked at about 70 – 80 km. per hour and can easily outrun a jeep. Stallions live either solitarily, or in small groups of twos and threes while family herds remain large. Mating season is in rainy season. When a mare comes into heat, she separates from the herd with a stallion who battles against rivals for her possession. After few days, the pair returns to the herd. The mare gives birth to one foal. The male foal weans away by 1–2 years of age, while the female continues to stay with the family herd.
