Another day I went out (this time with a CF Card) and it didn't worked out the way I wanted to. I waited an hour for the sun to go down and then the sky wasn't looking good any more... I'm gonna get the shot I'm looking for, so let's try it again tomorrow.

When you are into technology as much as me, sometimes you gotta burn some money on basic infrastructure. $200 in cables, and I had to order another $100 not too long after this. Issues being addressed: Redundant ethernet cables to each computer, USB2 to USB3 upgrade (have since bought yet another USB hub to increase my computer to 23 USB ports), increased electric guitar roaming, blacklight computer cables, crowded electrical outlets, free monitor missing cables, running out of places to put guitars (I later bought 15 more guitar wall mounts).

271/365: Last Thursday was rock and roll night 'cause my darling had a gig. The lovely thing about it is that I've got to upload two photos for the 365: one taken on Thursday (usually sound check is around 9 or 10pm) and one taken very early on Friday around 3:00 am - the rock and roll hour!
I think that guitar stuff is still pretty cool. After 450ish photo-a-days and 14 years of guitar, though, I am cautious/worried/aware of taking the same photo. So, here's another part of playing guitar--the cable. Plug it in, rock it out.

I really like my guitar amp. It's the Hot Rod DeVille™ 410. It has four 10-inch speakers, so the tone is nice and punchy.
I used my external flash, the Nikon SB600, resting on the amp aiming at the right of the guitar cable. I like the blurry knobs in the background.
On a side note, and probably boring note, you can see the red tape on the guitar cable. I used to put red tape or red marker on all my guitar stuff. Yeah, definitely boring ending.

"The first time I meet Mr. Angelo Tordini (Reference Laboratory founder) was at "Sarzana International Acoustic Guitar Meeting" in the 2009.
I was playing there in a duo project with my friend Roberto Diana and he introduced me to Mr. Tordini at the "Reference Labs' stand. The first thing I observed was the passion of that guy when he showed me his products... A lot of cables and microphones.
The first test I've done was on the Reference Labs cord RIC01A (especially designed for acoustic instruments). I compared that cord to a standard Hi-Q one and....wow!!!! Once I plugged in the RIC01A the sound of my nylon-string guitar became rich of harmonics, cleaner and warmer... Just amazing!!!
The second test iI've done was on Audix VX5 condenser microphone. The result was the same...

"La prima volta che incontrai il Sig. Angelo Tordini (fondatore di Reference Laboratory) fu al "International Acoustic Guitar Meeting" di Sarzana nel 2009.
Allora stavo suonando in duo col mio amico Roberto Diana e fu lui a presentarmi il Sig. Tordini nello stand della “Reference”. La prima cosa che notai fu la passione di Tordini nel mostrarmi i suoi prodotti, un sacco di cavi per strumenti e alcuni microfoni.
Ho fatto il primo test sul cavo RIC01A comparandolo con un cavo commune di largo uso e…wow!!!!
Quando ho inserito il cavo e ho iniziato a suonare dal mio ampli è uscito un suono ricco di armonici, limpido e rotondo, veramente bello!!!
Ho fatto il secondo test su un microfono Audix VX5 e il risultato è stato lo stesso…

For more than twenty years we have been collaborating with Umbria Jazz as technical partner.
This experience provided us with a natural sensibility to the sounds and melodies of its key musical style: Jazz.
Almost spontaneously, the idea to develop a new cable specifically for Jazz musicians and their sound grew at Reference Labs.
Today that project has been completed and the UJAZZ cable is its expression.
UJAZZ joins the line of the previous seven models already produced by Reference Laboratory. Each model has its unique identity and specific applications, since the first model was created in 1992, the RIC01, which represents to this day a sonic landmark for the market.
When taking into account the sound coming from a hollowbody or semi-hollobody guitar, we must consider the absolute importance of allowing both its souls to
be heard, in constant balance.
We believe this is the secret to obtaining a unique and unmistakable sound mix and this is the reason why we created the "UJazz cable".
