El Parque Real Łazienki (en polaco, Park Łazienki Królewskie) es el parque público más grande de Varsovia. Se extiende por un área de cerca de 80 ha. Alberga un conjunto palaciego y cuenta con un lago y un jardín botánico. Se encuentra ubicado en el límite sur del distrito de Śródmieście, sobre la avenida Ujazdów (Aleje Ujazdowskie), y forma parte de la llamada «Ruta Real» (Trakt Królewski) de la capital polaca.
Es famoso por albergar el monumento al compositor Fryderyk Chopin y algunos bellos palacetes e interesantes pabellones: el Palacio en la Isla, el Palacio Belvedere, el Anfiteatro, la Casa Blanca, el Templo de Diana, entre otros. La mayoría de estos edificios han sido transformados en museos en las últimas décadas.

El Palacio en la Isla
El Palacio en la Isla (Pałac na Wyspie) o Palacio sobre el Agua, inicialmente un pabellón de baño, fue transformado por el arquitecto Dominik Merlini entre 1772 y 1793 en un bello palacio de estilo clasicista como residencia del rey Estanislao II. Se encuentra sobre una isla artificial en el lago del parque y cuenta con dos puentes que lo unen con tierra firme. En la planta baja se encuentran el salón de Baco, los baños reales, el salón de baile, la habitación de los retratos, el salón de Salomón, una galería de pinturas, la capilla del palacio y el comedor. En la planta alta están los apartamentos reales, otra galería de pinturas, la habitación del balcón, la habitación del rey, los aposentos reales, el guardarropa y la habitación de los oficiales. Como principales motivos de ornamento se utilizaron relieves y mosaicos holandeses. El mobiliario y las pinturas son de estilo clasicista.

Łazienki Park or Royal Baths Park (Polish: Park Łazienkowski, Łazienki Królewskie) is the largest park in Warsaw, Poland, occupying 76 hectares of the city center.
The park-and-palace complex lies in Warsaw's central district (Śródmieście) on Ujazdów Avenue, which is part of the Royal Route linking the Royal Castle with Wilanów Palace to the south. North of Łazienki Park, on the other side of Agrykola Street, stands Ujazdów Castle.
Originally designed in the 17th century as a baths park for nobleman Stanisław Herakliusz Lubomirski, in the 18th century Łazienki was transformed by Poland's last monarch, Stanisław II Augustus, into a setting for palaces, villas, classicist follies, and monuments. In 1918 it was officially designated a public park.
Łazienki is visited by tourists from all over Poland and the world, and serves as a venue for music, the arts, and culture. The park is also home to peacocks and a large number of squirrels.

Palace on the Isle

The principal edifice of Łazienki is the Palace on the Isle (Polish: Pałac Na Wyspie). It was originally a baroque Bath-House erected in about 1680 by Lubomirski according to the design of Tylman van Gameren, the most outstanding architect in Poland at that time. The square-shaped structure had a three-side protrusion on its northern elevation. Inside was a round hall with a fountain and the hall was topped by a cupola illuminated from above by lanterns. The walls were studded with pebbles, seashells and imitated grotto. Adjoining it was a bath chamber with walls adorned by bas-reliefs. Both the building's interior as well as its exterior elevation were richly decorated with stucco, sculptures and murals. A portion of the original decorations survived on the entrance wall of the columned portico. Also original is the Latin inscription to be read as a rebus. In translation, it states: “This house hates sorrow, loves peace, offers a bath, recommends an idyllic life and wishes to play host to honest men.”

Riot helmets, ballistic vests, shields, batons — fully decked-out police officers have become staples in New York City as the protests against racism and police brutality approach their third week. But increasingly, one piece of equipment has attracted attention with its absence: the face mask.
On any given day, any corner, any group of officers, some or all of them are not wearing masks. Others wear them below their chin. With masks having become as ingrained as shirts and shoes in the vast majority of New Yorkers’ wardrobes, their widespread absence on the police is striking — and to a mayor and governor still fighting the coronavirus pandemic, troubling.
“Police officers should be wearing masks,” Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo said during a news conference in Manhattan on Monday. Likewise, Mayor Bill de Blasio, on his call-in appearance on WNYC on Friday, was asked why officers were unmasked.
”I’m frustrated by it, too,” he said. “The policy is police officers are supposed to wear face coverings in public, period.” But he noted that compliance is far from universal: “It has not been happening consistently. I have had this conversation with Commissioner Shea multiple times. It has to be fixed and that bothers me.”

Cascos antidisturbios, chalecos antibalas, escudos, porras: policías completamente vestidos se han convertido en elementos básicos en la ciudad de Nueva York a medida que las protestas contra el racismo y la brutalidad policial se acercan a su tercera semana. Pero cada vez más, un equipo ha llamado la atención con su ausencia: la mascarilla.
En un día cualquiera, en cualquier rincón, en cualquier grupo de agentes, algunos o todos no llevan máscaras. Otros los usan debajo de la barbilla. Dado que las máscaras se han vuelto tan arraigadas como las camisas y los zapatos en la gran mayoría de los guardarropas de los neoyorquinos, su ausencia generalizada en la policía es sorprendente, y para un alcalde y un gobernador que aún luchan contra la pandemia de coronavirus, es preocupante.
"Los agentes de policía deberían llevar máscaras", dijo el lunes el gobernador Andrew M. Cuomo durante una conferencia de prensa en Manhattan. Del mismo modo, se le preguntó al alcalde Bill de Blasio, en su comparecencia telefónica en WNYC el viernes, por qué los agentes estaban desenmascarados.

El Teatro Real es el teatro de ópera de Madrid y está considerado como uno de los más importantes de España, siendo destacable la presencia habitual de la Familia Real Española en sus representaciones. Está situado en la Plaza de Oriente, frente al Palacio Real, y es uno de los monumentos más emblemáticos de la ciudad.
La reina Isabel II promovió la construcción en Madrid de un teatro de ópera para acoger a la corte. Para esta tarea, la corona cedió los solares del Caño del Peral, en la Plaza de Oriente, sin embargo numerosos acontecimientos políticos paralizaron el proyecto, y no sería hasta el 7 de mayo de 1850, cuando en una Real Orden se manifiesta el deseo de impulsar las obras del Teatro y se exige que dichas obras deben terminarse en un plazo de seis meses.
Los arquitectos para dicha obra fueron Don Antonio López Aguado y Don Custodio Moreno, encargados de crear un magnífico edificio con forma hexagonal irregular. Su principal fachada miraría a la Plaza de Oriente y la otra, de menor empaque, recaería sobre la Plaza de Isabel II.
En la decoración interior trabajaron los artistas y decoradores más importantes de la época como Bravo, Tegeo y Lúcar. Aparte del coso teatral, había dos salones de baile, tres salones, una confitería, un café, un tocador y un guardarropa. Todas estas comodidades se habían copiado de grandes teatros europeos como el San Carlo de Nápoles o La Scala de Milán.
El teatro se inauguró el 10 de octubre de 1850, coincidiendo con el cumpleaños de la soberana. La obra elegida fue La favorita, de Donizetti y actuaron artistas de renombre, como el soprano Alboni o el director de orquesta Michel Rochelle.

The Teatro Real (literally Royal Theater) or simply The Real (as it is known colloquialy), is an opera house in Madrid. It was inaugurated on 10 October 1850, with Donizetti's La Favorite and is one of the world's finest stage and acoustic settings for opera.
The construction of the Real was ordered by the Queen Isabel II, hence its name, the Real (royal in Spanish). The Teatro Real is located just in front of the Palacio Real, the official residence of the Kings of Spain.
The most successful years of the opera house (including the visit of Giuseppe Verdi to present his new opera La Forza del Destino) were from its construction in 1850 to 1925, when the theater had to be closed because of the damage that the construction of the Metro de Madrid had caused on the building.
The theater reopened in 1966 as a concert theater until the middle of the 1990s, when the theater was remodeled to host opera again. In 1969, the 14th Eurovision Song Contest was held at the theatre, featuring a metal sculpture on stage which was created by surrealist Spanish artist, Salvador Dalí. Since 1997, the theater has recouped the fame and the excellence that it possessed on the 19th century. The orchestra of the Teatro Real is the Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid.
The Teatro Real has a museum, and daily tours of the building are given even when there are no performances. The Metro de Madrid station for the Teatro Real is Ópera on Line 2.

{Dos volúmenes principales, articulados por una pequeña rótula que albergará los accesos, el control, la administración, el bar y la cafetería, configuran la organización básica de las funciones del programa exigido. Dos volúmenes cubiertos con pendientes a favor de las aguas pluviales dominantes del Noroeste y captando luces naturales y homogéneas del Norte identifican, por un lado, la ubicación de la gran pista polideportiva, con toda su dotación de servicios (vestuarios, almacenes, graderíos, etc.), y del conjunto de las salas polivalentes y sus espacios auxiliares (vestuarios, servicios, salas de masaje, etc.) por otro. La articulación funcional se produce a través de un distribuidor general, que ocupa una posición central y que está en relación directa con la cabina de control, guardarropa y conjunto de bar – cafetería. {br} La organización de funciones persigue un control de acceso centralizado, no sólo de los espacios que contempla el programa actual sino, también, del espacio de piscina que se propone para el futuro desarrollo de las instalaciones deportivas completas. Esta disposición optimiza la accesibilidad, el tránsito y la eventual evacuación de la mayor ocupación de personas previsible, que son las que acuden, como espectadores, a algún acto deportivo o de espectáculo.{br} La disposición de las áreas húmedas se organiza como dos brazos o ramas que parte del núcleo central, en cuyo semisótano se ubican los cuartos de centralización de instalaciones. Estas áreas, dispuestas como filtros entre las circulaciones de pies de calle y pies deportivos, permitirán el paso a las áreas de práctica deportiva.{br} La circulación del público que acude como espectador se limita al vestíbulo y zonas de graderíos con acceso directo. La relación de la cafetería con el vestíbulo y área pública permite igualmente un uso fluido tanto desde el exterior como desde la zona pública.{br} Las tipologías estructurales de los volúmenes significativos del proyecto se han resuelto en función de las luces entre apoyos y de las alturas necesarias para cada espacio. La cubierta del espacio que alberga la pista polideportiva se resuelve con cerchas de par y tirante transversales, en el sentido de la pendiente, en madera laminada, y triangulaciones de perfiles de acero laminado, en base a una geometría que permite abrir huecos hacia el norte. Similar solución de cubierta se aplica en la sala polivalente de 25x15 m y en los squash.{br} La traza de las fachadas, retranqueadas respecto a las alineaciones actuales, dibuja una envolvente poligonal quebrada, sin referencias de paralelismo respecto a las envolventes actuales, de modo que se preserva la identidad de las dos construcciones.{br} En el resto de las salas polivalentes la solución estructural de cubierta se resuelve con forjado horizontal de losa alveolar pretensada y cubierta invertida plana.{br} La organización volumétrica del conjunto permite identificar de forma clara la escala de los espacios interiores.} {br}
