Guilty as charged!
Right in front of my nose, huge buildings, occupied by hundreds of families.
Downtown San Paulo, Brazil.
Few blocks from the City Hall, the Stock Exchange, the Central Bank among so many other fundamental, worthy and basic institutions.
In just one of the buildings, 475 families occupies 27 unfinished floors.
Kids play and run.
Clotheslines on the outside of the building, without any protection from falling down and in front of the entire city.
Windows, with breathtaking views, of one of the biggest and most populated cities on the Planet, made of compensated wood or sticks, even at the 27th floor.
People that use strength and organization to impose their reality, to a society that doesn’t care to listen.
Guilty as charged!

"The strength of all free peoples lies in it's unity" ~ "The future shall belong to the free"
Dwight D. Eisenhower, Inauguration January 20, 1953.

This picture is of a Hammond Map of the United States that was published in the June 1967 issue of Popular Science magazine. We have sure come a long way since then with things like Google Earth.
Eisenhower's vision of the Interstate Highway System from his Federal Aid Highway Act of 1956 is clearly taking shape on this map. A constructive endeavor that would forever change things. It was inspired in the name of defense, some of the other effects have been solidly long lasting.
As we are here together on 9/11, we never forget. Let us now be soldiers of humanity and promote conditions of peace wherever our spheres of influence may be.
