St Peter's at Whetstone is a mostly 14th century with a slender west steeple (rebuilt in 1856).
This was our second visit to this church on a Heritage Weekend and we were still unable to get inside (on our first trip we arrived too late in the day, this time the closure was perhaps connected to the extensive restoration work at the base of the tower).
Today I went to a festival in Toyama City where many many (predominantly young) men wearing nothing but fundoshi (japanese loincloths) carried a big portable shrine all around the town. And I mean nothing but loincloths. We're talking a lot ot man-ass on display here.
So of course I was eager to record the event for...err... posterity, and made sure that my camera was in my bag before I left the house this morning.
However I then took it out again when I saw these pretty pretty clouds in the sky behind my apartment block.
I took the photo you're looking at now. I got in my car, and drove to a friend's place and then to the festival.
Unfortunately I didnt actually manage to put the camera back in my bag, and left it sitting in my car all day, far from the festival.
So instead of many many photos of Traditional Japanese man-ass, you have one picture of some clouds.
Depending on your take on things, this may or may not be a good thing. I fall into the latter group.
Oh well, maybe next year.

Can you find the difference in these two cartons of orange juice? Try looking at how many ounces there are in each carton, in the lower right hand corner. Tropicana shrunk their juice once again. I complained to them when the 96 oz. container became 89 oz., and now they did it again!
I usually check these things myself, but this one I found by checking a consumer website. The "official" explanation? Well, there was a freeze in Florida, see, and the oranges all froze, which made for a shortage of oranges, which made them have to choose between raising the price or "shrinking" the amount of juice in each carton. Which would be a good explanation except for two things:
1. Tropicana uses a LOT of Brazilian oranges in the juice (right on the back of the carton!).
2. Florida's Natural (100% Florida oranges) has NOT "shrunk" their juice.
And most of all I get annoyed when companies say that they would have to raise the price if they didn't put less product in the containers. Hell, if I was paying $2.99 for 64 ounces, and now I'm paying $2.99 for 59 ounces, they DID raise the price.
Oh, and notice that the cartons are nearly identical in size!
