(This shot restores my faith in the second batch of test film, although I used the flash so that helped.)
Every once in a while, Nola IMs with her dad - sometimes when he's at work, but sometimes she sits on the couch with the laptop, and he's just 7 feet away at the desk. It used to be pretty basic (he'd write "cat" and she would IM back "dog"), but now they're doing full sentences. Here's an example from last night:
Tony: Hello
Nola: cat
Tony: The dog is barking at the car
Nola: mom and dad and nola
Tony: Nola goes to school and eats lunch on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
Nola: zeki (a kid in her class)
Tony: Can you wiggle your nose?
Nola: I am going to the zoo
Tony: Someday, Nola will be taller than her mom (she thought that was pretty funny, but it's true)
Nola: nola's going on the subway
Tony: Carolyn came over to play with Nola today. They had lots of fun.
Nola: Nola and Kim (one of her babysitters) are having lots of fun
Not quite a "conversation" but still, not too bad for a 3-year-old - she can read and type all that with very little help (like I had to show her where the apostrophe was on the keyboard).
Also, you might notice that I have a new camera - I am super duper thrilled and will be posting lots of new photos soon. Yay!
I am so proud of my little girl. This is a picture of me and as you can see - she tried to write Mummy next to it. It'sthe beginnings of her starting to write. They say she is doing really well at beginning to copy the shapes, or trace the dots. This writing she did all by herself though.
she has to be at the airport at 4:30 a.m. yes, we are letting her go, despite all of the madness the "organizers" of this trip put us through.

she insists on feeding herself. it almost always results in a mess, but she won't let go of that spoon once it's in her possession. she's almost ready to go full on finger food. i just can't stop buying baby food. habit.

My sweet middle daughter is 5 years old today! Poor little thing had a fever last night and is under the weather today! She is starting to feel a little better though.
Aujourd'hui, c'est une de mes journées préférées de l'année parce que ça me remplit de fierté de voir mon enfant beau et heureux, et de savoir que c'est en partie grâce à moi.
