Rosa Parks School ~ I love this school. This is your typical impossible shot, trying to capture my granddaughter as she walked down the aisle, graduating from fifth grade. But what is so wonderful, if you look very closely, is the families in the audience, holding their babies, taking photos, or holding up their cameras and gazing with rapture at the pictures already snapped. This audience was pumped! So fun to see! I love my hometown and love our Rosa Parks School.

This is a photograph from the Le Chéíle 'Leixlip 5KM' Road Race, Jog, and Fun Run was held in Leixlip, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Saturday May 4th 2013 at 11:00. This race has steadily grown in stature over the past number of years and now is a well known fixture in the racing calendar in May annually. This was a big aattendance at the race which finished with the last 700 meters on the beautiful new tartan track belonging to Le Cheile AC at the Leixlip Amenities center. As always This was a great race with a great atmosphere. The weather was reasonably good (except for a head wind at a few places on the course). Good race times were reported by many participants. Congratulations to Kevin Roche and all of Le Chéíle AC for their huge volunteer work that goes into making this race the growing success that it is. As always the post race refreshments were awesome with some fabulous treats available for everyone. This year Lidl and Applegreen were title sponsors with support for prizes from Runworx. There was great support from local Kildare clubs and club of the day must go to Sliabh Buidhe Rovers AC of Ferns in Wexford who brought over 30 athletes up on a club day out for the race. The race was supported by FIT Magazine. Junior races for children aged between 7 - 16 years old took place on the track at 10:30 before the main race at 11:00. The race was AAI Permit Approved with a certified course measurement.

Overall Race Summary

Participants: Approximately 320 people took part in both events with runners, joggers, walkers, and families involved.
Weather: This was a nice bright mild morning with a headwind at the 1st and final KM of the race.
Course: The race starts on the road outside the amenities center. There is a signifcant climb up the motorway overpass at 1KM. The stretch from here to 4KM is reasonably flat. There is a final
long drag up to Louisia Bridge and the race finishes with almost 700M on the new athletics track built by the club.
Refreshments: The refreshments after the Le Cheile 5KM have now gained legendary status. Outstanding.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.

San Diego Fashion Week 2014 - SS 15 Collection - Norma Hill Designs Collection
Fine artist, photographer, fashion designer Norma Brown Hill, a native New Yorker, began her photographic journey almost 30 years ago. Her first job after graduating from Bard College was at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Photograph Library. Her interest in photography landed her a job photographing art and architecture in Europe and the Middle East. In the late 70‘s she settled in Paris where she studied darkroom techniques and learned the art of hand painting black and white photographs using oil paint. After returning to New York, she studied Polaroid Transfer techniques at the International Center of Photography in New York City. Subsequently, she was one of six artists in the country chosen to be a creative consultant to Polaroid. Hill’s signature is her manipulated photos that are often found on her garments, as well as on her fine art exhibited at Christies in NY, the French Institute, the National Arts Club in NYC, Gallery Solferino in Milan, the Heckscher Museum in Long Island, the Nassau County Museum of Fine Arts, the Edwin A. Ulrich Museum, the New York Public Library, Studio 54, as well as many other venues. Many major corporations including Miramax Productions, Smith Barney, and Oheka Castle have purchased Hill’s work. She has been featured in numerous publications, including the New York Times, Newsday, Better Homes and Gardens, and Modern Photography. Hill recently moved to San Diego where she has a studio in Leucadia. Currently her collection for FWSD is dedicated to creating artistic images combining painting and photography, incorporating sacred icons and texts from various cultures to help promote harmony in diversity through clothing. She truly has a unique way of printing her images on textiles that you don’t want to miss coming down the runway.
México, D.F., septiembre 2012.- La Unión Nacional de Trabajadores de la Industria Alimenticia, Refresquera, Turística, Hotelera, Gastronómica, Similares y Conexos, celebró su CIII Aniversario con la realización de tres importantes eventos los días 20 y 21 de este mes.
El primer día, a las 9:00 hrs. se efectuó en el Salón Chapultepec del Hotel JW Marriot, la Asamblea Nacional que estuvo presidida por el secretario general del C.E.N. de la CROC y de la Unión Nacional Donceles 28, Senador Isaías González Cuevas, acompañado por su comitiva, los 60 líderes seccionales, secretarios generales y delegados de todo el país, quienes entregaron su informe de actividades sociales.
Posteriormente, en este mismo lugar, se realizaron tres interesantes conferencias: propuesta del Gobierno Federal sobre la Reforma a la Ley Federal del Trabajo, por el Lic. Arturo Oropeza López; la importancia de la Formación Sindical “Escuela Nacional de Cuadros Sindicales de la CROC”, por la Dra. Soledad Aragón Martínez; y la Economía Nacional y sus perspectivas, por el Lic. Alfonso Suárez Romero.
En la mañana siguiente, en el marco del CIII Aniversario de la Unión Nacional Donceles 28, el Senador Isaías González Cuevas encabezó un desayuno en el Hotel Marquis Reforma donde asistieron más de 600 croquistas. Los compañeros Eduardo Reyes Sánchez, Jorge Landeros Romero, Enrique Telles Rodríguez y Elodia Jiménez López, recibieron un reconocimiento por sus por sus 50 años de militancia activa y lealtad a la organización.
El festejo continuó por la tarde en el Hotel Camino Real, con una comida para más de 1000 invitados, entre ellos: Ing. Antonio Cosío Pando, presidente C.E.O. del Grupo Hotelero Brisas; Lic. Miguel Alemán Velasco, presidente del Patronato Miguel Alemán y presidente de Interjet, acompañado de su esposa la Sra. Christianne Magnani de Alemám; Lic. Estela Ponce Beltrán, presidente municipal de La Paz, BCS; Lic. Rodolfo González Guzmán, secretario general de la Confederación Regional Obrera Mexicana; la Sra. Isabel Nava de González, esposa del Senador Isaías González Cuevas; Lic. Gerardo Gutiérrez Candiani, presidente del Consejo Coordinador Empresarial; Sra. María de los Ángeles Aldir de Velázquez; Olegario Vázquez Raña, del Grupo Empresarial Ángeles; y Carlos Joaquín González, titular de la coordinación de Turismo.
El Senador Isaías González Cuevas, acompañado por el secretario general de la CROC del estado de Jalisco, Alfredo Barba Hernández, entregó la antorcha de la innovación a dos importantes personalidades que han contribuido de manera significativa al sector turístico: el Lic. Miguel Alemán Velasco y el Ing. Antonio Cosío Pando.
La antorcha de la innovación es un galardón que desde 1977 otorga la Unión Nacional Gastronómica y Hotelera.

I grew up watching his movies. I idolized John Waters since I was just a kid. He is a true comedic genius. I first met him thru my bff Pia Zadora like 20yrs ago. We went to a premier of "Serial Mom" and sat with him. To this day, he has no idea how much I respect him. It was his influence that got me interested in becoming a filmmaker. He changed my life, says Yaskoff.

So 2015 has ended. What a year that was. It had more downs than ups, but we have to take the bad in our stride to really appreciate the good. 2015 seen me made redundant TWICE, bury my mom, my two Greyhounds, and I lost my grandad just before Christmas. Sad stuff aside I got a new job which I've made so many friends from who have helped me in more ways possible. Let's hope 2016 is a little bit more happy for my family, and everyone else in the world.
