Last month i got job to shoot a highschool yearbook (just one class). The students came almost an hour late so we had to rush everything. At the end we had to wait for the rain to stop before we could do the final (and most important) shot, the class shot. It was dark and i brought different types of umbrella T_T
It was challenging, had to race with time, wrestle with lighting and posing issues. In the end it was a very good lesson for me. The class was happy with the results *phew*
The first group. I used just one SB800+shoot-thru umbrella boomed high and positioned it so everyone gets lit evenly (challenging!). Not sure we had enough time so i kept the 2nd SB800 in the bag *regrets* Triggered with CLS (TTL 0.0). Color correction, masking and texturing in Photoshop.
After applying exposure compensation for both the flash and the environment, here's the improved exposure.

It was not uncommon to see five groupers on one dive, but to get them in one shot is very unusual. Pleased with cramming them in despite the poor quality of photo
Family group standing outside "Twynholm", 245 Babbacombe Road, Torquay. This is a copy of a picture Ann has. It was not labelled but I have worked out who everyone is. Standing from the left: probably Annie Ramsay Gordon 1879-1937 wife of Arthur Edwin Durbin; Harriet Elizabeth Pridham nee Rice widow of William Pridham and sister of Anna Maria Gordon. The elderly man is probably William Ireland Gordon 1847-1923 and next to him his wife Anna Maria Mitchell Gordon nee Rice 1851-1929. Next to her is her daughter Frances Eveline Gordon who later married Robert Burn. Seated on the left is Glady Pridham daughter of Harriet and Ethel Loveday daughter Annie Durbin. The house is called Tywnholm because that was the name of the village is Scotland where William Gordon was born.
