The key to great chili con carne is time cooking and fresh ingredients. The more substitutions and less time quality is lessened. Still tastes great.Mexican-American is one of my favorite foods. Posted an easy-to-read webpage on Blogger with this recipe.
Chili Con Carne Recipes - Template:
Ingredients:
- One pound of dried beans (prepared: see below)
- One pound of meat (cooked and drained)
- One half pound of sausage (cooked and drained)
- One large onion (diced)
- One package of chili spice mix (cumin, red pepper, chili powder, cornstarch) it is easier to just use the package - I still haven't perfected my own mix.
- Bell pepper ( diced; green, yellow, red: any combination)
- Thirty two ounce can of diced stewed tomatoes
- Chile peppers to taste (diced; quantity; scoville scale)
- Sixteen ounce can of corn
- Two tablespoons of garlic powder
- Two tablespoons of white vinegar
- One quarter of a cup of brown sugar
-
Dried beans preparation: over-night process
1. Sort through beans for any debris. Rinse two to three times until water is clear.
2. In the pot, cover clean beans with water and bring to a rapid boil for one hour; keep the beans covered with water. Turn off the heat.
3. Let the beans soak until cool. Rinse two to three times until water is clear. This removes the un-digestible sugars.
4. In the pot, cover clean beans with fresh water. The beans will absorb water as they soak, so to ensure they stay covered with water, add an abundance.
5. Soak them over-night.
Preparation:
1. Rinse the prepared beans. Add the diced onion, diced tomatoes, and corn.
2. To the mixture, add enough water to cover the beans and bring to a boil. A portion at a time (so the powder will not lump), add the spice mix package, add the brown sugar, vinegar, and garlic powder while the water begins to boil.
3. When the onions are transparent, add the bell peppers and chile peppers (to taste). Add the prepared meats.
4. Cook until the onions are no longer visible, the peppers are tender, and the sauce has thickened.
5. To test the readiness of the beans, spoon some out and blow on them. The beans are cooked if the skin splits.
When the chili con carne is cooked to satisfaction munch down. Can garnish with diced spring onions, white onions, cheese, homemade salse, and the list goes on according to personal preference. (Ripe diced black olives. Not Green.)
This is as clear and concise as the recipe has gotten so far. It is in progress. Follow the basic guidelines and remember your own taste preferences. I have been known to add eight habanero peppers because that was my taste at that moment.
We made a large pot of Chili con carne for dinner. Ingredients included: Ground beef, Chili seasoning, Diced tomatoes; Onion, Pinto beans and Black beans. We topped our bowls with Shredded Colby jack cheese, Pico de Gallo, Sliced jalapeño peppers and Sour cream.

The latest science does not recommend limiting unprocessed meat based on personal preferences, and values. Unprocessed meat has not been shown to be assocated with cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, or heart failure in a recent global study of over 150,000 people (PURE Study)
Went down to the Holleroo Street Fair on N. Central St. after 1pm to see the soapbox derby. And we returned around 7pm to see King Super and The Excellents perform. Afterwards, we went up to Señor Taco for dinner.

Although Mexican in origin, nachos are very popular in Canada too. In our house we have them fairly regularly as our main meal.

Making Bolognese is not a quick process. After all this cooking, I was underwhelmed because garlic is not used. Going forward, will add garlic. It's a must in my world.

If there is one thing I love, it’s a recipe that combines bold flavors, hearty ingredients, and a little bit of crunch. And let me tell you—these Pretzel Cowboy Sliders check every single box. Perfect for game day, family gatherings, or just a fun weeknight dinner, these sliders are packed with juicy, seasoned beef, crispy bacon, gooey cheddar cheese, and a little kick from fresh jalapeños. But the real game changer? Those soft, salty pretzel buns brushed with a rich, buttery cowboy sauce.

#Whole30 Stuffed PeppersBeing raised mostly Mexican, I've been making stuffed peppers since I was 10 and mostly without a recipe. This time I followed it because spinach, butternut squash, and no cheese or rice! This was so weird without melty cheesy goodness holding everything together, but tasted mostly the same due to the right spices.#cleaneating

...Stumbled upon this most unholy package of ground beef last night whilst looking for burger meat for the "barbie"...
I was going to buy it for the "Hell" of it, but alas it was a bit too lean for us, at 93% and 7% fat... (not nearly greasy enough for our barbie folks)...
Thanks to Creepella for the title!!..LOL!!
We ran over to our local Kroger and picked up the ingredients for Taco salad. We had enough for lunch, dinner and some for lunch the next day!

Delicious Mama Cozzi's Mega Meat Pizza from Aldi's, with spicy sausage, pepperoni, beef patty crumbles and bacon.
The beginning stages of a bacon cheeseburger. I took a half pound of ground beef and mixed in Rufus Teague Meat Rub. I placed in 2 slices of Griller's Bacon (A thick 1/2 inch cut of bacon) from Greg's Meats of Hampton Minnesota and a chopped onion
All ingredients were fried in a cast iron fry pan. I put a nice caramelization on the onions and then topped the burger with 2 slices of American cheese, A lid was used to catch steam and melt the cheese
After melting the cheese I placed the burger topped with both the bacon and onion into a hamburger bun from Hanisch Bakery in Red Wing Minnesota. In my opinion they make the best hamburger buns that I can find.
Condiments used were Mayonnaise and BBQ sauce
Moments after this photo was taken, this burger disappeared and was never seen again! The Carolina burger at Rustic Burger in Hope Mills, NC is what southeastern NC residents call an "all the way" burger, chili, cheese, coleslaw, mustard, and onions. Damn good!
After a long day of classes I decided to make spaghetti for my housemates. <3
It was pretty darn good..haha.
Spaghetti and eggs in a basket are pretty much the only things I know how to cook proficiently..sad :C I'm a much better baker bc its more precise..
Cooking is add a little bit of this, a little bit of that..confusing stuff!
Anyway, have a great night all :)
