In de volksmond wordt het ook wel Allemansverdriet genoemd, omdat de plant dankzij de lange wortelstokken lastig te verwijderen is.
Wer die Figur Groot kennt, weiß, dass das Baumwesen nicht viele Worte macht. Genau genommen sind es sogar nur drei kurze Wörter, die Groot sagt, wenn er etwas sagt: "Ich bin Groot."

Onder het motto 'grappige vrijdag'. De (V)IRM zoals we die kennen sinds 1994. Ik heb al eerder van verschillende treintypes het 1:1 en 1:87 op een foto, maar van de VIRM was daar nog geen sprake van. Nu de meeste VIRM's al in de nieuwe livrei zijn afgeleverd is het leuk om een vrijwel identiek model te laten poseren met de treinstellen in de oude kleurenstelling.
IRM 8432 (het model) is niet helemaal meer van deze tijd. In 2004 werd het treinstel verlengd met twee bakken en doet dienst als treinstel 8632. Dit treinstel is tegenwoordig in dienst als VIRM. Dit model is van Rivarossi en dateert uit 1995.
Rond 18:30 uur poseert het model in een heerlijk zonnetje terwijl zijn grote maar jongere broer - de 9595 - als intercity een groet brengt richting Roosendaal.

Groot hoefblad (NL)
Groot hoefblad (Petasites hybridus) is een plant uit de composietenfamilie (Asteraceae). Het is een in België en Nederland voorkomende plant met zeer grote bladeren die langs oevers van water groeit. De lange steel (tot 1 m hoog) met rozeachtige bloemen in een aar verschijnt voor de bladeren, die eind april, begin mei, uit de grond komen.
Langs het water is groot hoefblad een mooie plant, maar de soort wordt beschouwd als een zeer lastig onkruid door de wortelstokken die moeilijk te verwijderen zijn. Daarom wordt de plant ook wel allemansverdriet genoemd.
In de middeleeuwen werd groot hoefblad Filiae ante Patrem genoemd, hetgeen betekent dat de dochters (de bloemen) voor de vader (de bladeren) tevoorschijn komen.

Petasites hybridus, the butterbur, is a herbaceous perennial flowering plant in the daisy family Asteraceae, native to Europe and northern Asia.
The flowers are produced in the early spring, before the leaves appear. They are pale pink, with several inflorescences clustered on a 5-20 cm stem. The leaves are large, on stout 80-120 cm tall stems, round, with a diameter of 40-70 cm with petioles up to 1.5 m. It is also called bog rhubarb, devil's hat and pestilence wort.

The Great Fish River (called great to distinguish it from the Namibian Fish River) (Afrikaans: Groot-Visrivier) is a river running 644 kilometres (400 mi) through the South African province of the Eastern Cape. The coastal area between Port Elizabeth and the Fish River mouth is known as the Sunshine Coast. The Great Fish River was originally named Rio do Infante, after João Infante, the captain of one of the caravels of Bartolomeu Dias. Infante visited the river in the late 1480s.
The name Great Fish is also a misnomer, since it is a translation of the Dutch Groot Visch Rivier, which was the name of a tributary in the vicinity of Cradock, which at its confluence with the Little Fish (Klein Visch Rivier) forms what is properly called the (Eastern Cape) Fish River.

Diese Skulptur wurde nach dem Tod von Marie Groot 1946 bei den Bildhauern Hermann Perl (1878-1967) und Karl Tuchardt (1907-1984) von der Familie Groot für die Familiengrabstätte in Auftrag gegeben.
Heute steht die Skulptur im "Garten der Frauen" auf dem Hamburger Friedhof Ohlsdorf symbolisch für die vielen Frauen, denen wertschätzende Erinnerung nicht zuteil wird.
This sculpture was commissioned by the Groot family for the family gravesite after Marie Groot's death in 1946 from the sculptors Hermann Perl (1878-1967) and Karl Tuchardt (1907-1984).
Today the sculpture in the "Garden of Women" at Hamburg's Ohlsdorf Cemetery symbolizes the many women who are not given appreciative remembrance.
