Galex grabs a bottle off the shelf and turns to Shya who is busy stirring the cauldron.
"I can't tell the unicorn tears from the ogre sweat? Which one is this?" he asks holding up a bottle.
Exasperated, Shya mutters under her breath, "This grimlock can track any beast in the forrest without issue but put him in a kitchen and he's as useless as a baby trigor..."
Then, slightly louder for Galex to hear, Shya says "Neither, dear. You're holding a bottle of centaur spit and if you add that to this potion it'll make the whole thing inert!"

A new art installation has positively transformed a downtown street corner. Eye-catching sculptures went up Thursday outside Sunwest Silver at Lomas and Fourth, right across from the courthouses. They are modeled after the Transformers characters, Optimus Prime and Grimlock.
We made a quick stop to take a look at these fabulous pieces of art.
I was torn between this shot and my Penguin miniature. Bought 3 mini Transformer toys from a pound shot recently but couldn’t bring myself to open the box until now!
These are around 40-50mm high and sadly do not transform as they are so small.
Valerobots Grimlock continues his domination of my photostream!

I started the Christmas decorations with the kids this weekend.
I've been really slacking in taking pictures, hopefully I can get back in the groove.
The book is now available so make sure to order your copy.

It includes instructions for a couple of smaller Transformers designs, but also instructions to build an Optimus Prime model.
The title applies to the fact that two giant robots--one of them a dinosaur!--are fighting, not to the quality of my photo.
Both figures are repainted by the talented Valerobots.

So ends Grimlock Week, celebrating another transcendent Valerobots repaint! (Or two such repaints, in the case of this and several other photos; both Prime and Grimlock here were beautifully reimagined with Valero's kickass weathering).
The title is a quote from Grant Morrison's compelling history of superheroes, Supergods.

Lego Grimlock, the leader of the Dinobots from the film Transformers 4 - Age of Extinction.
I'm very happy to show you this model finished, sorry for waiting.
This is a big model (4410 parts), the maximum length is almost 1 m. For this reason the internal structure is made with technic parts to keep the body lightweight and strong. Also there are gears and mechanisms that allow a wide range of movements, from the head to the tail.
It was totally built using Lego Digital Designer.
FEATURES
- free articulations on mouth, tongue, arms and tail
- 2 flex joints for each leg articulation (ankles and knees)
- turntable-worm gear for hips rotation
- turntable-worm gear for head rotation
- 2 linear actuators for head movement (up and down)
- easy removable dorsal ribs (for holding the model)
- an intimidating appearance

The talented Valerobots worked his painting magic on Masterpiece Grimlock, and the beautiful, badass results will dominate Geek Creek this week. The visual aids in the background of this portrait of my unusual custom take on G.I. Joe's computer expert Mainframe serve as a teaser.
Mainframe's lovely weathering is courtesy of another talented friend of mine: Heymilt!
