Getting the BBQ grill ready for having friends over.

We got a new Kamado Joe grill this week and Jasper is ready for some serious BBQ action. He needs a stepstool to operate it, but he's a clever lad and up to the task. Smoked brisket here we come (after a few learning grills first 😁😎🌵)

We sat in the restaurant and watched what the grill master was doing. When he finished his last order, he started cleaning his workplace. First, he cleaned all the surrounding stainless steel and ceramic surfaces and removed the grease and moisture that had stuck to the walls. And at the end, he performed a spectacle with the burning of the remaining fat from the grill grate. Quite effective and perfect for photography, which I did not expect.

Father:"Kids today we have a specialty for lunch - Ninja turtle on a grill pan."

Children: "Hooray, it sounds delicious."

Yasha Jakovsky:"Freeze!."

Ninja turtle Raphael:" Thanks Yasha, you came just in time."

P.s. Don't worry the little turtle is alive and well, this was just art photo for my flickr gallery :o).

If you check out this month's issue of National Geographic, there's an article about beef consumption in America. The very last photo is of a backyard cookout hosted by me and my girlfriend Leanne. We're very excited to have made it into the magazine. :)

This is just a behind-the-scenes snap I took of photographers Brian Finke and Adrienne Grunwald doing their thing while grillmaster Leanne does her thing. I've been waiting to share this for months. :D

Haninge Fantasy Games took place this week. By chance I noticed a photographer taking photos of a very colorful model outside the cultural centre in Handen earlier today so in my usual style I interrupted the proceedings and asked if I could join the fun. The photographer was Ice of Tin and the model Grimalcin Cosplay. Real name Elvina Ejstes. Elvina comes from Hara in Jämtland but is today based in Stockholm. She's in to Science Fiction, and today she was dressed as Leeloo from The Fifth Element, one of my favorite sci-fi movies of all time, starring Bruce Willis and Milla Jovovich as Leeloo, the perfect being. I told Elvina that I was planning to watch Ghost in the Shell tonight, and she told me that she was at the premier of that movie in Copenhagen, dressed then of course as Major Motoko Kusanagi, the role that Scarlett Johansson plays in that flick. I took a few quick photos with Elvina posing up against the wall at the cultural centre and then thanked both of them for letting me interrupt their photo session. Always great when you find someone like this by chance, the only reason I turned this way today was that I spotted a friend at the Grillmaster, and when I turned around there was Elvina being photographed.

The Grillmaster ...

It's a warm and humid July evening on the guest quarters porch off the port side stern quarter of American Steamship's 1,000-footer MV American Spirit docked at one of the CSX docks in the Port of Toledo.

As the coke can says, the only thing we're missing is a grill for some steaks and then Mr. Josh Cleary truly would be 'the Grillmaster.' Beside Josh is his father Mike Cleary and Dave Schauer in the orange hat.

Just pulling out of the CSX Coal Dock is the MV Algoma Enterprise headed for Hamilton, ON.
